Baseball Teams Exhibited Proficiency in Competition Because of the abundance of skill present many positions, Forest View's varsity base- players continually vied for starting as- during the 1970 season. This rivalry in a team that demonstrated overall and skill. The squad displayed its fullest capabilities the season opener against Fremd in which Johnson pitched a no-hit game. As the sea- progressed, wins increased to a total of while losses accumulated to five. The coached by Mr, Tom Seidel, finished third 'n conference competition. Five players earned election to the all-conference baseball team. Doc Collins awaited the outcome of a play. F ' lr- VV In preparation for varsity play, the soph- omores concentrated on improving the funda- mental baseball strategies presented in the freshman year. Coached by Mr. Mike Frase and led by Bob Sobieski, and Randy Jespersen, the sophomores posted a record of 7-7. Coaches Mark Thorne and Ray Cipriano introduced the challenge of competitive high school baseball to the two freshman teams. With a 7-5-2 conference record, the Fresh- man A-team finished third for the season. The Freshman B-team also finished third with 8 wins and 4 losses. Gabino Galindo stood ready for a ground ball.
