Office Guides Assisted Both Faculty and Students ' OFFICE GUIDES: Bottom Row: Debbie Hart, Donna Phillips, Top Row: Bonnie Anne Parmenter, Chris Sheehan. Students willing to give up free time volun- teered as office guides. To ease the working loads of their supervisors, they performed a number of miscellaneous services. Every morning the Attendance Office Guides gathered the IBM cards and absentee slips from all of the classrooms. While some volunteers de- livered passes from Mr. Gary Tjarks and Mr. Norman Patberg, others answered in-coming phone calls and processed textbook loans to stu- dents. In addition to showing visitors to class- rooms, the Main Office Guides ran errands for the faculty members and worked in the mailroom. Students in the Counseling Office delivered messages and passes from the counselors. They checked out college catalogs, filed papers, an- swered phone calls, and showed transfer students around the school. Some of the jobs of the Health Office Guides included filing papers, issuing bandages, answering phone calls, and helping ill or injured students. The Library Guides assisted the librarians by checking out and reshelving books. Those guides who worked in the magazine room distributed peri- odicals and microfilm to the students.
