Class History . . . We are a class of NFIRSTSM. FIRST in the largest number of graduates in the history of the school, FIRST in the production of a Junior May Day, FIRST in the presentation of a Senior, Sub-senior Inaugural Dance. Perhaps we have not always attained the highest scholastic average. Perhaps we have not always achieved Forest ParIc's athletic ambitions. Nevertheless, if we have aspired to be FIRST in ejfort, FIRST in courtesy, FIRST in consideration of others, we may pride ourselves upon our record. Today we pledge our- selves to become good citizens of our country and useful links of the chain that ties man to his fellowman. To the achievement of this end we dedicate our lives . . . It was on a blustry October day that the june class of 741, boasting 515 members at the time, was introduced to Miss Ruth E. Ruhe, its adviser. Surveying the youthful, expectant faces with a pleasant smile, Miss Ruhe hurled a challenge at the class, HLET US SEE IF WE CANNOT MAKE THIS LARGEST CLASS ALSO THE BESTIH We have never forgotten these words. Even as we set about electing officers and preparing for our activities these words were before us. Election day came. Ira Marks became the Sub-junior Class president and Bob Steele de- feated Charles Godwin for the vice-presidency.
