Brrrrring!... Bang!... Shuffle-d-clump!... SOUND. Taking it all in. Taking it all for granted Each year we immortalize moments... Unique. Sweet. Agonizing. Frantic. Gigantic. Personal.... keeping memories in a single dimension. SIGHT. Each life is a product of all five senses. Memories, therefore, are not exclusive to sight. Hearing a song, we remember most vividly a particular person, place or situation. A sniff of sulfur awakens nostrils and recalls third hour chemistry lab. We remember garliced odors on lasagna day sneaking down to math class or rusty, luke- warm, water-fountain drinks or c-c-c-c-cold c-c-c- classrooms or “doot-doo-waaaas” chanted during morning announcements by giggly cheerleaders. ay ses ice. e see, hear rough scho se into the re se perie 11 But experience is flattened into 3x5 glossies and the dimensions of a full year, a full life, are squashed between the covers of a book. This year, the Forester adds a new dimension to recorded Forest Lake High School history. We add to the basic visual rhythm the verbal harmony that can make the most monotonous of tunes a symphony. summer at would summer be whWlLall those covered by bluCT Skg to Valley Fahr or tubing down the A e River were favorite activities tooMrKteverybody J |||Sthat when the sun we rifejron, rfbe iBwa at the HUB. 20 Summer Peek-A-Boo! BELOW: This familiar sight at Lakeside Beach was a welcome sight for hungry sunbathers and swimmers. Summer 21 Homecoming Rein of Error Thwarts Mustang Recall Activity is synonomous with Homecoming in Ranger country. A variety of kooky and clever contests were combined with the gracious ceremony of the coronation, the vocal enthusiasm of the pepfest and game, the pulsing pagentry of the parade and bonfire and the oomp-pa-pas at the Alumni Polka. Student Council planned extra surprises like a balloon raise at the game and coupons for the purchase of hats, shirts and buttons. This year that old school spirit seemed to return after many thought the flame had died. Battle Cry was never louder than during the pep-fest this year. Then there was Lutz and the growl heard ’round the world. Even though the weather was a bit wet, it didn’t dampen the spirit of the Mighty Rangers! RIGHT: The game was exciting and dry after a week of rain. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a dry eye when the clock ran out. The band traveled to Traverse City, Michigan for the National Cherry Festival where they were viewed by approximately 250,000 people via a 7-state telecast. Shortly after the opening of school, September 27, they headed north once more. Tubas, piccolos, coolers, bedrolls and cameras were loaded on the bus headed for Winnepeg. Performing at half-time for the Winnepeg Blue Bombers football game was their mission. Mission accomplished: MOST MAGNIFICENTLY! Band members hit the road for the Cherry Festival Parade in beautiful downtown Traverse City. Jeff Thomas served as drum major on this trip. 24 Summer Band Pounding the sod and trying out a few new tunes was routine for band members. ABOVE: Larry Peterson and Joel enroute to Michigan. Some of us loafed and goofed off, other worked and made money and some of us sincerely wanted to return. Strike! 27 Damn Yankees: The Devil Made Me Do It The strike nearly cancelled performances of the fall musical, “Damn Yankees.” Although cast members rehearesed under community auspices, regrouping and rescheduling were the order of business when we returned to school. Deadlines were compressed and somehow when the lights dimmed and the curtains parted the FLHS stage was transformed into a musical extravaganza. It was a high energy musical based on the theme of selling one’s soul to the devil. Strong performances by theatre veterans and exciting debuts by new-comers made “Damn Yankees” unforgettable. Sometimes we sympathized with the efforts of Mr. Applegate (John Joachim) and the futility of his plans. A sensuous Lola (Julie Ruddy) made putting ones whole body into work an eye opening experience. Henry Hebert directed the production. w 1 Senior John Joachim made a thoroughly sympathetic devil in the guise of Applegate. Tim Mansmith and Jolene Sunsten reconciled after his disappearance in an attempt to save the Senators. Kris Cohoes and Jan Banta berate a surprised Joe LaCasse. 28 Fall Musical Mr. Hebert molded a broad cross-section of the student body into a capable performing unit. It’s a battle of the sexes as the ■‘boys’’ talk baseball and the “girls try to get them to do the chores in this production number from Damn Yankees. Flying feet and high spirits filled the stage as the Senators and their fans perform. The boys tell it like it is in the game of baseball. You gotta have heart. The pit band provided a variety of musical accompaniment for the chorus and actors. Fall Musical 29 Let’s Hear It For the Muscle Behind the Musica The house was dark and silent. Suddenly pale light illuminated the drapes and the floor. The whine of a saw screamed ominously. It wasn’t the Forest Lake Chainsaw Murders but the backstage set crew preparing for the fall musical “Damn Yankees.” The facility of the crew working from plans and with raw materials was aptly demonstrated by smoothly functioning sturdy sets. Hammering created a din so loud that it often drowned out the shouts of the lighting crew setting the stage with dramatic pools of light. Stippling and spattering with complimenatary paint colors made set decoration realistic and three dimensional. The tireless snip of scissors and the hum of sewing machines transformed yard goods into flowing costumes. Hours of practice in learning music and rehearsals with actors and chorus members made the musical pit band a harmonious addition to the action on stage. A publicity crew and ticket sellers mad certain that an audience would be on hand to applaud and laugh after they were ushered into the theatre for the musical. Coordination of the on-stage and off- stage activities produced a satisfying experience in the fall musical “Damn Yankees.” 30 Backstage Backstage 31 LEFT: Tom Distler and Erich Kertzscher are in control of the comings and goings of shadows and spots. BELOW: Sue Novak, Tracie Sausen, Robin Perzichilli, Brenda Walsh, Beth Gifford, Roxanne Mueller, Rosalyn McConnell and DeeOee Schlaeger all pitch-in to create another world from fabric. There Is A World Beyond Graduation Day The Career Resource Center was officially opened on September 25, 1980 and is an extension of the Guidance Office. The Center houses a computer to explore occupations and schools in Minnesota. Additional career exploration materials and equipment available are the College View-Deck, Occupational View-Deck and College and Vocational School catalogs as well as visiting representatives from various colleges, Vo-Tech schools and branches of the military. Approximately 70% of the student body made use of the Career Resource Center in 1981. This year a College, Vocational- Technical School and Military Fair was held in December. It provided parents and students an opportunity to talk to over 50 different college, vo-tech and military representatives. Two Financial Aid Workshops were conducted by Sister Anne Elise Tschida, Director of Financial Aid, St. Catherine’s College and Mr. Herald Johnson, Director of Financial Aid, Augsburg College. Over 450 attended the fair. 32 Career Center NOW WHAT? - One Act “Birthday” Celebrates Second in Region 444 Days x 52 Americans + Iranian Militants = unparralled American spirit that soared with an eagle and wrapped itself in yellow ribbons. The Jazz Ensemble 1 from St. Cloud was a great change of pace and The “U” group showed up with everything; even a harp. Their performance featured many individuals including this saxophone player. The Spanish Court of the mid- seventeenth century is the scene for this unusual tale. The spoiled young princess receives, of all things, a deformed, dwarfed boy as a birthday gift. “The Birthday of the Infanta,” dramatized by Stuart Walker and based on the short story by Oscar Wilde, was directed by Henry Hebert for competition. Sub-regional competition saw an exquisite performance by the cast, advancing the “Infanta” to the regionals. A second place trophy was brought back, along with the scenery, costumes and weary cast. In our quest for entertainment the ultimate decision was not “When,” or “With whom” but “How much will it cost?” We weighed the merits of a movie and pizza against the benefits of skiing and cruising. Gas money, ticket money, food money flowed out of wallets and purses. “Hitting-Up” our parents for cash put added strain on us. With the financial crunch, we often found ourselves sitting in front of the tube or listening to the stereo. Activity Options 39 $ 1 Need to check rocus credits GOTO • . The Kinney home is for adolescent youth who are chemically dependent. The award was for having the Best Program in the Nation for Chemically Dependent Youth. The Kinney home is located in Wyoming so school age residents of the home attend school in Forest Lake. About 95% of those residents have been in the Focus program at the Senior High. Even though a fire destroyed the home and the plaque in November, Bob and Linda Kinney continue their work. We salute you! Give FLHS a Voice That’s Heard A storybook romance and wed- ding in July captured our imagina- tion and attention as Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, and Lady Diana were married amid the pomp and trappings of London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral. Television air time for Minnesota was early morning and some of us saw the nuptials performed live via satellite. Music, processions and sacred vows filled the screen and made us think of fairy-tales we had read to us many years ago. soared into the heavens, our hopes and prayers went aloft. In its abbreviated mission the shut- tle proved spaceworthy and reusable. Despite continued opposition to an Equal Rights Amendment, Sandra Day O’Connor was ap- pointed to a seat on the Supreme Court. Never had a woman been raised so high in the judicial system. Feminists supported the nomination despite grumblings from the right. Our illusions of peace and tran- quility suffered when peacemaker and Nobel Prize winner Anwar Sadat, president of Egypt, was assassinated by disident members of his military. Interna- tional tensions increased but a smooth governmental transition paved the way for stability in the Mideast. Assassination attempts earlier in the year of President Reagan and Pope John Paul were vividly remembered at this time. 44 Year in History As the space shuttle, “Columbia,” A new pool was completed at Southwest and split-shifts made for strange hours for junior high students and no activity buses for us. Even after regular hours returned the late buses didn’t! Lack of transportation and $16 activity fees cut afterschool par- ticipation considerably. The year was far from the ordinary and the memories will undoubted- ly remain vivid for years to come. Someday, with grandchildren gathered ’round, you will reminisce about the strike of ’81 or winter of ’82 ... what a rush! “Reagonomics” had many in the country wondering how it would hit them. Would safety nets be provided for those who were truly in need or would tax cuts and the end of entitlement programs be a windfall for the rich? The battle of the budget and the state of the nation continued to heat up as the year progressed. Closer to home, Minnesota experienced budget and program cuts on the state level. Deficits in state revenues continued to grow, reflecting the state of the national economy. The cuts affected our “Quality of Life” and caused heated discus- sion. By the time the budget pro- posals hit local government, com- munities had begun a scramble for what little funds remained. In an attempt to secure better economic and working condi- tions, teachers went on strike throughout the state. The strikes were often long and bitter and left unpleasant reminders; like no vacation days and extended hours second semester. We said Good-bye” to the old and “Good Grief” to the new as the Hubert Humphrey Metrodome was inflated in the fall only to col- lapse shortly thereafter during a heavy snowfall. Repaired and reinflated, it became home to the Twins for their season opener. Year in History 45 46 What’s New The Daddy Warbuck’s look was in” for women this year: Designer-Bald. Aside from the punk” phenomenon, headbands, braids and feathers ap- peared as a more conservative sign of the times. Knickers and leggings were on many girls’ shop- ping lists along with designer jeans. While Lech Walesa was leading Solidarity in Poland, Wayne Gretzky was breaking season records in hockey. On the tube it was Hill Street Blues” and Magnum,” but on many sets it was home video via Atari et al. The Stones rocked through the U. S. on their last tour and Richard Simmons was getting to Americans over-weight stomachs through their hearts. Although El Salvador was a topic of heated debate, the real item of discussion was THE CUBE.” Cube contests, cube books and cube- crazed puzzle-people were everywhere! The year saw the outlandish side of fashion, the vivacity of a diet-exercise guru and record- breaking weather but the hard hitting realities of inflation and Reagonomics” were still there quiet- ly eating into the pocketbooks of Americans. It’s a lot of hard work and practice. Forest Lake’s tennis team proves just that, because they worked hard. And hard work paid off. Even against the toughest odds our team put up a mighty fight. At the end of the season J. Feils was named most valuable player, A. Motschenbacher was most improved. The hustle award winners were M. Waataja and K. Paulsen. The 100 hour club award went to Cathleen Carey, she received it for lOOhours of practice over the summer. It has been said they play good tennis but not quite consistant enough for a winning season on the books. But with all the hard work and improvement this year it’s difficult to think of these girls as anything but winners. 64 Girls’ Tennis 1981 VARSITY TENNIS TEAM: STANDING: S. Ostertag, A. Both Cross Country teams had suc- cessful seasons. The Girls’ team won both the Purplehawk and Ranger In- vitational. Early season injuries hurt the Boys’ team chances for those titles. Ranger Girls’ team placed 2nd in the conference while the guys finished third in the conference. Tom Palokangas, Peggy and Patty Paulino made all-conference with Joe McBain, Jim Ramacier, Tim Pratt, Mary Grundhofer and Toni Haus receiving honorable mention. Both teams were dedicated and hard working, according to Coach Jacobs. As a replacement for Coach Fedder- ly, he was quite pleased with the con- sistent improvement of the runners. Having to forfeit the last two games didn’t help but even though our standing in the conference was “middle-of-the-road,” the team was hot this year. We won our division at the Rosemount Tourney — all three teams! The JV team was undefeated this year, too. Coach Paulson said her team was well balanced, with all players being played. “They were short but they were scrappy!” She said they never quit out there. Making up routines and practicing over and over and polishing and performing. Gymnasts are always striving for perfection and con- tinually pushing for newer, more difficult routines. Forest Lake was well represented by a dedicated team during the 1981-82 season. With coaches, fans and teammate support our Ranger Gymnasts should be at the start of something big in seasons to come. 81-’82 GYMNASTICS TEAM: BACK: SOPHOMORES: Renae Brodbent, Julie Ramacier. Gymnastics New Coach; New Plays; New Spirit New style and new drive pushed the Ranger “Grant-men” through an exciting and successful season. The new look to Ranger grid action finally clicked in the last three games of the season — all wins! The most points ever scored by Forest Lake against an opponent was in the Spring Lake Park game. If the Anoka game were not forfeited, due to the strike, the Rangers would have played for third in the conference. Carl Parker set a school record for interceptions in a season. Schultz and Bayless were two of the top receivers in the conference. Quarterback, Tal Gravelle and Carl Parker made the All-Conference team. Even though the record (1-17) didn’t show it, the varsity was either tied or ahead in the second half of eleven games. It was a frustrating season for the players and coaches, but to the credit of the team they hustled and played hard despite their disappointments. Jim Jorgenson was the team’s Most Valuable Player. Bret Weiss was awarded Best Defensive Player, Mr. Hustle and Best Re- bounder. Greg Bower won the Free Throw Award. Girls' Basketball 79 Ranger Wrestlers The Best Twelve-Pack Around Ranger Wrestling has become our most consistently successful sport. This year they fought their way to second place in the toughest Region in the state. In individual wrestling, Forest Lake ran away with the first place title. With team members like Sophomore Jeff Thompson (231 Match points, 97 Team points, 57 Takedowns), it’s easy to see why the Rangers were tough on the mats this year. Senior Bob Menne stole the state record for the fastest pin this season with a slap to the mat in only 11 seconds. With a young squad, it looks like dieting, working out and hard work could pay-off BIG next year. B-Squad wrestling continues its im- pressive string of 34 wins under the guidance of Coach Pogreba. '82 was definitely the YEAR OF THE WRESTLER. This was the year that was interrupted by the strike; that day the teachers all took a hike. A hike it was, three weeks at that, but no time was lost upon the mat. Then three weeks later our meeting would be when the sophomores got their chance to meet “Big D. ” We all found out how hard practice gets. Some even thought it’s really the pits. Before we knew it, Christmas was here and an extra two pounds to bring in the new year. The Anoka match was soon to be; That afternoon we met Rick and Dave G. Then to Ramsey in our shut-out score, which tied the record of a mere 64. Then all of a sudden Regions were here and off to Anoka we went this year. Then to Coon Rapids in one week we 'd go to meet Elk River who would be our foe. We stole one from them, winning by two, then against Anoka we lost by a few. We found out how far hard work goes and “Just because you’re ahead doesn 't mean you can doze!” So my advice to next year’s team is; Have Fun, but work hard, don ’t have a let down and you’ll be NUMBER 1! Cutting hours of travel time and put- ting them on “local ice” for daily ice- time could have been the difference for this year’s Icemen. The team in- creased inside ice time from 45 to 100 hours. Coach Peltier believes that this team was, as a whole, better skilled and gives credit to the local hockey pro- gram. The graduating seniors on the team are products of the program, starting at Pee Wees and continuing in the program through high school competition. He also credited this year’s success to the added ex- perience of many of his 3 year regulars. Duke Remitz had another excellent season, making All-Conference for three straight years. His performance as goal tender has been great. This year the JV Hockey team had a full squad for the first time. Like the varsity, JV ended 50 50 for the year. Goalie, Dean Maki had 4 shut-outs for the season and Tyler Carlson tied for second in the North Suburban League scoring category. The FOCUS program is for students who have problems succeeding in the basic academic main-stream of school, but have average ability. It is a voluntary program. The program runs for three or four hours per day and offers Social Studies courses, English and Math in addition to GROUP. A 92% attendance rule, contracts and consequences are all a part of FOCUS. But the common denominator of all FOCUS students is an abnormally low self-concept. They see themselves as failures, they are comfortable as failures and, in order to “stay safe,” they will do everything in their power to maintain themselves as failures. Thus, the overriding goal of the FOCUS pro- gram is to help the student create a positive self-concept and “learn” new behaviors that will promote and rein- force this new self-concept. “I have gained some lifelong friends, and met some unforgettable people, (in FOCUS) I will always remember what I have learned here. I will be living what FOCUS has taught me and that is what is most important. I have learned to love myself and achieve things I never thought I could do. I have the guts to go on in life.” FOCUS 1981-82: ROW 1: Judy Heaton, Dan Anderson. Steve Nielsen and Charlie Champlin. ROW2: Carol Mollen, Tammy Moss. He was very con- cerned that the needs of some of our students were not being met. The following teachers volunteered: Nancy LaTourneau Doriene Eastman Howe Tom Baldwin In January 1975, these volunteers visited other FOCUS sites in the Roseville area schools. Mr. Rand presented the FOCUS program con- cept to the Board-Administration Council and the entire staff in February. The interviewing process started with potential FOCUS students. Interviews were conducted by FOCUS staff, counselors and the principal. In March 1975, Forest Lake Senior High was accepted as an adoption site for the FOCUS program. In- service and training for the staff was conducted in April and May. In the fall of 1975 the program officially opened. Math, Social Studies and English classes were offered. Family Groups were organized for support and counseling purposes. A stu- dent’s “Family” made sure obliga- tions and responsibilities were ful- filled by all its members. The Family Group was used to reinforce each student’s abilities, positive behaviors, self-confidence and create a positive attitude toward school through trust, care and concern. In 1977 a Work-Study program was added and a new person was added to the staff: Loren Lynch. In 1979 an entirely new staff moved into the FOCUS area: Mike Altavilla, Sally Irvine-Hagman and Diane Jensen. By 1981 all new faces were in the pro- gram again, with the exception of Jackie Kroska the secretary, who has been with the FOCUS program since March 1976. The FOCUS program has helped over 580 students and, of these, 85% have graduated from high school. Many changes have taken place in the FOCUS program over these 7 years — many more changes have taken place in the lives of the students who have experienced the FOCUS program. This year because of budget cuts, the FOCUS program has come to an end. It will certainly be missed by students, faculty and parents. The Class of ’82 could look back at the faces that have come and gone in the past three years; especially those of teachers! Over 25 teachers who were here in the fall of 1979 are no longer teaching at Forest Lake Senior High. In fact, a very large percentage are not teaching AT ALL! There are those who retired like Mr. Scofield (subs in the district) and Mr. Harper (just returned from New Zealand). There are teachers who stayed in education, like Mr. Backes, but changed jobs. Mr. Backes is an Assistant Principal in Alexandria, MN. Or, there’s Mr. Peacock who teaches at the junior high. And, of course, Mr. and Mrs. Redmond, who both teach in Grand Marais. But there are many who moved into the business world: Mr. Lynch runs his own motel, Dianne Jensen sells antiques, Mr. Thoburn sells real estate, Ms. Markus works for an insurance company. Regardless of where they are and what they are doing now, they will always be remembered as teachers at Forest Lake Senior High. The school nurse may become a thing of the past in District 831. The School Board has recommended that her position be cut. What impact might that have on students and staff? Will a nurse’s pass be a thing of the past? Who will be responsible for the chronically ill student or maintain parent contact in matters of health? Certainly, there are those who seek the comfort of a nurse s office cot to catch-up on lost sleep or as a haven during test time, but the majority of visits to the nurse are legitimate. Over 3800 ill students visited the nurse last year and some 1401 injured students were cared for by Ms. Frigstad, school nurse, or Ms. Valenty, health aid. Frequent visitors are monitored and parents or school officials are contacted. Such monitoring has proven instrumental in detecting conditions referred to family physicians. Mr. Hallin taught his first scuba class for Forest Lake students in the spring of 1975 at the White Bear Lake YMCA. Since that time, he has taught at least one class each year. They have used pools at Columbia Heights, Spring Lake Park and South St. Paul. Students and faculty have completed these scuba classes. The first classes to be taught at the new Forest Lake pool will be this spring. Mr. Hallin first became interested in scuba diving through his experiences with a friend and fellow lifeguard. In 1963, they discovered the 235' long Civil War steamship, War Eagle, in the Black River. That discovery led him to work with the Minnesota Historical Society looking for fur trading artifacts. In 1973 he went to Greece for 3 months and dove for the University of Pennsylvania. While there, the Temple to Apollo, about 2300 years old, was uncovered. For the past 3 years he has taken groups diving in Central America and Mexico. i®' ABOVE: Friendship is sharing a flipper with a buddy. Holiday time means travel- ing to see friends and relatives. Some travelers don’t make it. Santa has nothing in his bag for these people. BUT THE RED CROSS DOES!! Through blood drives like the one we had at Forest Lake Senior High on December 15, the Red Cross is able to supply much needed blood to many holiday casualties. 150 pints of blood were donated by students and staff this year. This was the second best donation on record for the high school. It was the largest single donation to the Red Cross in our chapter. The entire process, per student, took about an hour, including the goodies in the canteen area. See- ing faculty, students, ad- ministrators and school staff all pitch-in to truly give a gift from the heart was certainly gratifying. This “Gift of life” we gave in hopes that family and friends will never have to say “Thank you.” Our thanks to Student Council and Ron Trombley, director of the Blood Drive. Ron was assisted by Michele Frady, publicity, Erica Anderson, donor recruitment, and Dawn Syverson, canteen coordinator. three .. . eighty-three . . eighty-three . . . eighty-three .. . eighty-three .. . eighty-three . .. eighty-three ... eighty-three . . . eighty-three ... eighty-three . It offers free professional counseling and assistance to youths and their families. In 1977, a local police chief, probation officer and assistant principal decided that Forest Lake needed some social services centrally located to supply our large multi-county school district. On August 1, 1977, they were notified that their proposal for the Youth Service Bureau had been selected for funding. A staff was hired and the target group established: youths ranging from 8-17. The YSB receives referrals from police, courts, schools, and parents. Services are flexible. They can be provided through individual and family counseling, skills enhancement and other co-sponsored services. These services can be received at their offices in the Professional Building, at school or at home. A partial list would include diversion therapy, early intervention, outreach, restitution, community work, individual counseling, family counseling, group counseling, skills development, senior citizen chore service and a clown club. Anyone who lives within the Forest Lak school district can use the burea. This year over 350 young people have used their services. BELOW: YSB staff members are (standing) Doug Williams, Tom Oswald and Bill Hutton, (seated) Paul Sterlacci and Diane Nickerson. 168 YSB A Knock-Out Tim Jung does a number on his unsuspecting opponent. Tim has boxed for several years. This year one of his Golden Gloves matches was at the Forest Lake VFW Hall. He came out victorious! Tim’s father got him interested in boxing. His father had boxed in the Navy. When Tim came home from school one day after a fight, his dad figured it was time he learned to defend himself. Preparing for Repairing The Trades and Industry class (T l) has proved a successful one over the years. Seniors who have taken either Small Engines or Sports Vehicles are eligible. Mr. Blasko began the program in 1973 and has continued to teach the class for the past 9 years. T l is housed in the central supply building (the old bus garage behind Central Jr. High). Students are bussed over to the facility each day for two-hour classes. There are 68 students enrolled this year. Mr. Blasko said that only about 8 girls have ever taken the course. From the looks of these photos, however, they aren’t afraid to get into the swing of things! iiiliimin!!: T and I 169 Nadine Benson Colette Berens Steve Booth_______________Dean Boraas Jim Broker Ed Bryant John Christenson Brenda Brown Ron Clausen Matt Bridgeman Greg Brown Barry Carlson Cathy Charais Greg Bradshaw Brenda Carlson Kris Cohoes Patty Distler Brenda Dixon Jeff Doerr 178 Seniors Marv Emerson Scott Erickson Jayne Feils Brian Erickson Jim Endrizzi Dianne Erickson _Beth Erickson U 14 Karla Erickson Nick Faber Phil Ferrazzi Seniors 179 Mike Findlay Paul Flor Chris Frounfelter Connie Geske Bart Goldeman Frank Fischer Scott Forman Joe Friel Pat Gabriel Tim Gort Maureen Flaherty Fred Forthuber Mary Fritz Brian Garagiola MikeGiampolo Bob Frogner Russ Gentz Lynda Glenn Tyron Johannes Jeff P Johnson w Kevin Johnson Therese Johnson Steve Juhl Koreen Johnson Kelly Kabage Karen Kazmierczak Jeff L Johnson Karen Johnson Jim Jorgenson Leslie Kan Patty Keis Seniors 183 Seniors Not Pictured Dan Anderson Loren Anderson Ted Anderson Jim Antinozzi Dawn Barkeim Jeff Bishop Jim Blackbird Annette Bohnen Bryan Bourgoin Dave Brott Troy Buege Mike Chandler Bob Crawford John Defiel Todd Faymoville Lori Ferraro David Flohr Diane Forsbade Sean Frost Kevin Gordon Steve Granna Kristi Graslee Janice Greathouse Andrew Grindy John Haluptzok Darla Halvorson Deborah Hammer Jim Harley Jill Heck Dan Hunt Tim Jung Cary Kendall Scott Kieleszewski Jodi Kipping Priscilla Koch Sissel Kristiseter Datah Kunshier Gordon Lawman Mike Lee Eugene Leroux John Lynde Michele Maas Todd Martin Greg McGuire Ron McNamara Dan Mellgren Chris Mickelson Jennifer Meyers Terry Ness Steve Nielsen David Och Barb Olsen Peggy Paulino Patty Paulino Darrel Peabody Rodney Petron Jeff Petroske Dawn Quigley Joni Resch Missy Rivard Jerry Rosengren Scott Sample John Schweitzer Keith Shelander Tracy Simberg Darwin Smith Don Sorensen Dwayne Sparks John Strandmark Todd Summer Delroy Towle Tony Wallin Rick Wishon 184 Seniors Rondi Kellerhuis Erich Kertzscher gS m t Seniors 185 186 Seniors Michelle Lodien Joseph Long Laura Marier Cindy Lundeen LeeAnn Mattson Bob Lockwood Carol Long Andy Lutz Scott Mayhew Dayna Marg Renne Mickschl Ted Montean Julynn McChesney Penny McLean Tammy Miller Anna Motschenbacher Laurie Myrmel Bob Menne John Miller David Mills Cathrine Nadeau Seniors 187 188 Seniors Carol O'Gary Julie Owen Tim Ohmann Judy Olson Jill Nelson Sondra Noreen V 1 Bridget Ohnsorg Scott Ostlund Shawn Omara David Olsen Kathryn Paulsen Herbert Peiffer Susan Peterson Shannon Pogreba Doug Peterson Kathy Pfaffendorf Sandra Rasmussen Ron Renard Larry Peterson Sherry Quarnstrom Scott Renard Michelle Rafftery Mark Retica Seniors 189 190 Seniors Brenda Schroeder S V f Richard Schilling Randie Schwab Richard Riopel Steve Sample Brent Schlaeger Steve Schroeder Sandy Schwartz Bob Shoberg ili Jean Schleicher Edith Searby Janet Shogren Janet Schaffer Joe Schmitt Darla Schultz Kim Sedlacek Kristen Shogren Julie Ruddy Lee Scherer Lisa Schmitt Dave Schultz Lisa Sedok Robin Stegert Cathy Skoglund Sonia Stace Derek Steffenson Steve Stegner Kim Stricklin Chris Swenson Jim Stendahl Michelle Strandness Jolene Sunsten Mary Svec Kevin Swaim Tammy Swanson Peggy Swedeen Neil Swenson Dawn Thaemert Janet Thomasen Dan Timm Ron Trombley Seniors 191 192 Seniors Kelli Tubbs Jeff Vollhaber Lori Watters m Bret Weiss Lynne Wiberg Joni Wavrin Jacquelin Westhoff Karen Wilberg Jeff Urmann Denise Westlund Tammy Wilcox David Weeks Sandra Wessel Susan Weir Jenny Williamson Jeff Winberg Bill Wolner Jeff Yezek Rocanne Wizik Julie Woodington Tom Zanosko Carol Zeches Teresa Wlaschin Gina Wright Seniors 193 SENIOR INDEX A Amundsen, Michelle Volleyball 10,11 Girls Softball 10,11,12 Anderson, Christine National Honor Society 11,12 Math Science Tutor 11,12 Anderson, Erica Leigh Ranger Band 10 Choir 11,12 Flag Corps 10 Mezmora 12 Student Council 12 Speech Club 11,12 Plays: Guys and Dolls.
