Shakespeare Comes Alive Through the dedication of a hardworking crew the fall production of Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” proved Shakespeare is still alive through the ages. Even though Mr. Hebert was absent for two weeks, the cast rose to the challenge and took an interest in their individual parts, striving to achieve a group pride. Although there were no designated stars, each crew member attributed to the total success of the show. Because of the change in language, the lines were feared by some. But by the repetition of practicing hour after hour, it became a part of them to express—through gestures, actions, and motions. The show held the interest of the old and young alike. Never before has a school play performed matinees. There were two daytime and nighttime shows. For the Thursday matinee, Kellogg High School brought 120 students, joining 40 senior citizens from the Forest Lake community, to the performance. On Friday, November 11, the theatre department held a Sophomore Appreciation Day with 530 students attending. Although a little hesitant at first of the audiences' reaction—the Shakesperean play became a midsummer nights dream. 1. Jody Proulx shows her affection for a jackass. 2. John Kelly makes a point to Rick Verner. 3. The newlyweds share a toast to their future. 4. John Kelly, Perry McGowan, and Melanie Hoff prepare for the show. 5. Scott Fearing gives Lon Lamprecht a face lift. 6. The rustics show fear of their newly found friend. 7. The Fairy Queen and King (Jody Proulx and John Gabrial) gaze into each others eyes as mischievous Puck (Regina LaRoche) looks on. 8. MIDSUMMERS NIGHT DREAM CAST TOP ROW: Lenore Wolner.
