Phyllis Tones The Student Council of the first semester sponsored a pep rally the night before the Kenton football game. We had a weiner roast and a snake dance through the streets. Afterwards the cheerleaders led a few cheers and there were speeches by the coaches and a representative of the team. We sponsored a Halloween Party and invited the seventh and eighth grades. There was round and folk dancing and we had a fairly good attend- ance. In November we decided to send letters to all the Forest boys that were in the service at Christmas. Being a member of the Student Council is a busy and rewarding job. We are certain that the succeeding members will carry on the tasks of the organi- zation with great success and much interest.

Carolyn Clinger This year we made a special effort to get a large contribution for the 54 March of Dimes campaign, collecting money from each organization and class in school. Each took a great interest and gave freely: thus we were successful in getting a nice sum. We sponsored an informal Valentine party at which many students enjoyed a pleasant evening of entertainment. We took it on our shoulders to start a fund for window curtains in the auditorium. Plans for a carnival began to take form. Each class had some small task to do. Our greatest hope is that the school will be so pleased with this year's carnival that they will want to make it an annual event. We hope the people who succeed in Student Council enjoy doing things for our school as much as we have,
