FUUTBALL It was a joyous crowd that left the Upper Sandusky football stands one night early last fall. Because of one touchdown and a goal kick, our team had defeated Richwood, winning their first game of the season. It was a wonderful beginning for any team starting a new season, and it made a tremendous arousal of the school spirits of the Forest fans. During the several weeks that followed, our team battled through league games taking defeat with success. Then came the most important game of the season, the game would either make them victors of the season or degrade them before the eyes of their fans. With a good team and a desire to win, our team met the Kenton Wildcats: but despite the effort they put out, Kenton topped our score by eight points. Even though they had lost the game they wanted most to win, their football season wasn't over. They played five more opposing teams, winning two games, tying in two ontakes and losing to Columbus Grove, which is a league opponent that they would like to defeat almost as much as they want to defeat Kenton. All in all, it could be summed up as a fairly good season for the team. Perhaps the team benefited by defeat. They were a new team: many of them having never played too often in the real game. Their being defeated didn't necessarily mean that they had few good qualities as a team, but that teams of rivaling schools have built themselves to better with-hold their opponents. Teams in years to follow will have to strive to obtain better team work and as a single body work on the weak links of their previous successors. As a whole, the student body was with the team and they will all be cheer- ing for the time when the Rangers will be tops in the Conference. l SPONSORED BY THE BOOSTER CLUB .
