Varsity SEATED: Coach Lowell Shaffer, Ohlin Hemmerly, John Waller, John Hooker, Kay Albert, Kenneth Wright, Coach Lowell Reese. STANDING: Manager Tom Rigsby, Robert Briggs, Tommy Kellogg, Charles Cramer, Robert Johnson, Vincent Cramer, Manager Leroy Rigsby. Basketball The Forest Rangers started the season with a win over the Mount Victory Green Devils when we met them on their floor December 7, l95l. The score was 58-42. Next we handed Marseilles their first defeat of the season. This was a non-league victory for Forest played on the Marseilles floor. The final score was 64-54. Roundheua met us next here at home and we ran away with the game with a score of 82-57. This was our second league win. There were games scheduled with Ada and Rushylvania but both were cancelled because of bad weather. The Forest Rangers handed the Alger Eagles a 79-56 loss and gained their third league win. Arlington traveled to Forest to lose to the Rangers in a hard fought game with a close score of 58-52. The Forest Rangers, playing their best ball during the first period, de- feated the Dunkirk Pirates on their floor by a score of 57-39.

Reserve SEATED: Raymond Woolley, Joseph Conley, William Parsell, Elmer Seymour, Eugene Anspach. STANDING: Bill Holtzmuller, Bill McDaniel, Franklin Hemmerly, James Johnson. The Forest High team smothered Dola with a score of 89-33 in a game played on the home floor. This gave the Rangers their seventh victory of the season and their fifth league victory. The Rangers won over Salem by a score of 68-60 in the next game. This, too, was played on our own floor. Our next league game was with Ridgeway. Ridgeway led at the half by a score of 36-34 but Forest held them down to seven points in the last half, showing strong defense work. Forest won with a final score of 70-43. To give the Rangers their tenth straight win, they defeated Wharton by a score of 46-39 in in a comparatively slow-moving game. In the next game with McGuffey, both the Reserve and Varsity teams were handed their first defeat of the season. McGuffey won by a score of Sl -49. This tied Forest and Alger for league honors. Both had a 6-l won, lost record. Our last two games were non-league games. Forest again beat the Dunkirk Pirates with a score of 70-44 and then climaxed the regular season by a thrilling 70-68 victory over Syca- more, champions of the Wyandot County League. The Varsity team traveled to Ada to play in the county tournamen.. and came out as run- ners-up, being defeated once more by McGuffey, S8-55, who took the honor of tournament champions. Next we went to Celina to play in the district tournament. In the first game, we won over Rockford with a score of 49-47, but we were defeated by Delphos St. Johns, 55-48, on our second trip.
