KF 'Nm NN' The Future Homemakers of America is the national organization of pupils studying homemaking in junior and senior high schools of the United States and Territories. As an integral part of the program of home econom- ics in the schools of America it offers opportunity for the further develop- ment of pupil initiative in planning and carrying out activities related to homemakng. The Future Homemakers of America brings together state groups inter- ested in and working toward better home and family living, provides oppor- tunities to share in solving problems important to home life, and sponsors group projects, local, state and national in scope, it increases opportunities for the development of leadership and intelligent participation so much needed in a democratic society. The emblem of the Future Homemakers of America is octagonal in shape and bears the name of the organization, Future Homemakers of America, around the top of the plane while around the lower side of it is the motto, Toward New Horizons. ln the center there is a house supported by two hands which symbolizes that the future homes of America are in the hands of its youth.
