ll People do not accidentally make contributions to society. This results only from concentrated effort, and the use of the talents with which an all-wise God has endowed the individual. fThe desirable attributes of one who contributes to the success and happiness of his associates must be cultivated before they become a part of that indi- vidual.J He must learn to live, to love, and to share. Mrs. Myra Harlan was well-versed in all these. She will always be remembered for her contributions to the boys and girls of yester- day, the men and women of today. Her efforts to improve the scholastic standing of the school, the educational status of the community and the moral standards of all can never be measured. As a classroom teacher she placed the welfare of the child first, ever being loyal to all, co-workers, children and parents. No problem was ever too big not a responsi- bility to great for her courage could not be surpassed. Because of this characteristic she was never free from the cares of school and community. Leading in extra curri- cular activities, directing plays, keeping the lunch room books and accounting for state and federal monies and coaching junior basketball girls were some of the extra responsi- bilities you could find Mrs. Harlan assuming in addition to classroom duties. Her very busy life at school did not keep her from attending the church services and performing her duties as a good christian. Surely she was one of those who could lay down the cares of this life with a well done thou good and faithful servant and leave behind an influence that can never be forgotten. wp-'ng-p, ff -- --- --wg'----rv-gf --vu-ww ' V- ,,,.-,.,.-...wi I 1 . l 1 w i 1 3 4 1 l 4 w 1 I 1 I l 4 .
