iii? appy Birthday, Arkansas! FHS held a day long celebration to com- memorate the 150th birthday of Arkansas. The celebration was highlighted by the burning of the time-capsule on campus. The time capsule will be dug up in fifty years. The contents of the capsule was don- ated by the different clubs on campus. For the occasion, the Governor's office sent a special Sesquicentennial Flag to the school. The flag flew over the high school for the week of the celebration. Several of the students and teachers on campus dressed up in traditional clothes for the celebration. Several antique displays were put on ex- hibit the week of the celebration. Ms. Haw- kins and Ms. Phillips brought their collec- tions to the school and displayed them in the High School Library during noon. While the different classes came to see the display the women told a little about the objects. A musical exhibit was also held in the High School gym for the Upper and Lower Elementary classes.
