The Fordson High School Varsity Football team finished with an amazing 8-1 regular season record after gaining only one starter back, Mike laquaniello, from last season. They finished in second place in the always tough Wolverine A Conference, behind Trenton, which was the only team to beat the Tractors in regular season play. This year's offense consisted of a powerful ground attack as well as an effective air attack. Our senior starting backs included: Kirk Rydzik, F8, Dan Herman, HB, and Sam Sareini, FB. Our senior starting receivers included: Matt Bis, WR, Dave Crysler, WR, Eric Johnson TE, and Andy Salagan, TE. Everything was directed of course by Senior QB and co- captain, Mike laquaniello. Our defensive and offensive line improved dramatically and controlled the trenches for most of the season. This year's defensive line was one of the biggest and fastest in Fordson Football history: senior powerhouse and co-captain, Scott Lewis, Junior Hugeman Mike Kostovski, Junior Rob Slavin and Senior Gino Sesssa. Fordson is very proud of yet another winning football team. Even though they lost their pre-regional game to Catholic Central 7-2, they have nothing to be ashamed of. They not only destroyed thier competitors 52-0 on Home- coming, but they had an All-Stater in Mike laquaniello. Above: Coach Slergalas and Bobby Bucclarelli discuss defensive strategy in the Monroe game. Left: Bob Bitar calls Time Out as Andrew Salagan heads for the huddle. Above: Brie Johnson tucks the ball in, as he runs fora touchdown. Left: A first down earned the hard way by the hardworking backs. Right: Stay, stay, stay.. . the sled was never this hardI

Girls' Varsity Basketball Front Row: Senior tri-Captains Rhonda Saad, Dawn Cialone, and Mona Ali. Back Row: Rima Salamey, Kim Joseph, Nancy Veliu, Lisa Lewandowski, Coach John Kreger, Mandy Chandler, Lisa Risa, Cina Polanski, and Kelly Cialone This year's 1985 girls' varsity basketball team had another great season, while compil- ing a 19-5 record. The Tractors placed a second in the Wolverine A League, while losing twice to league foe Trenton. The other three losses were from state ranked teams: Divine Child, River Rouge, and Detroit Martin Luther King, who, by the way, were the Class A State Champions. The team also won their district for the fourth year in a row. The Tractors were led this year by senior Tri-Captains Mona Ali, Dawn Cialone, and Rhonda Saad. Also just as outstanding was junior Mandy Chandler. Next year's team has a lot of talent coming back with Mandy Chandler, Cina Polanski, Lisa Lewandowski, Kelly Cialone, and Rima Sala- mey. 14
