The Fordson Girls' Basketball Team ended with a 19-4 record winning the Wolverine A League title again. They went all the way into the regional playoffs before losing to Murray Wright, 78-42. Detroit Mackenzie and Southwestern were easy foes in the districts. This year's team was led by Co-captains Nancy Skubik and Lori Abbas, the latter being the league's leading scorer and the former being a strong leader who played with guts and determina- tion all season long. The other seniors who started were Sandi Abbas and Lynne Hurley, who both were consis- tent scorers and who also con- tributed many steals and passes to the Tractors' fast break. Rounding out the starters was Sophomore Mandy Chandler, who hit many key baskets, including one with two seconds left against Monroe to give the Tractors the win, and who also was a force inside getting rebounds and blocking shots. Dawn Cialone, Mona Ali, Rhonda Saad, Sue Lotarski, and Lisa Lewandowski return next year. TOP LEFT: Coach Kreger gives his girls words of wisdom to win.
