Music, art encourage student creativity A chance for you to become creative is available in the Art and Music Departments of Fordson High School. New to the music staff is Miss Maritsa Madias, who is advising the Vocal and Jazz Choirs. Mr. Phil Hespen has coordinated the band for over three years now. He has improved the band with such changes as new uniforms, trips to places like Disney World, and a larger, better quality band. The Music Department combined forces in December to produce the musical, “Scrooge.” If you have ever been interested in Art, there are five courses that are available. Also, throughout the year there were art shows that students entered. The classes offered are Basic Drawing and Design, Drawing I and II, Commercial Art MV. and Jewelry I and II. According to Mr. Richard Cicero, “Seniors realize too late that they enjoy art, and they wish that they had taken it earlier.” So get creative and take some music and art.
