Mr. Letsche is appointed as principal With the start of the 1982-83 school year, Fordson received a new principal. After a term of 18 years, Mr. Harvey Failor retired and was replaced by Mr. William Letsche. Mr. Letsche’s career at Fordson began in 1954. He taught health and physical education. He also held the office of boys’ athletic director. Following Mr. Letsche’s departure in 1967, he held several administrative positions: serving as assistant principal at Lowrey from 1968-71, returning to Fordson as assistant principal until 1977, serving as assistant principal at Dearborn High until 1981, and most recently as principal at Lowrey. “It’s always nice to come home to a building you respect and love,” said Mr. Letsche. Counselors provide necessary services You have a problem with your scheduling. You don’t know what classes you want to take. You don’t even know if you have enough credits to graduate. So who can help you? Well, our fine staff of counselors will be your friends and help you out with almost any kind of information you might need. Information including college preparation, ACT and SAT testing, career information, and the availability of scholarships is available. This year Fordson added a new counselor, Mrs. Virginia Warden, because of the addition of the ninth graders. Mrs. Warden used to be at Edsel Ford before coming to Fordson. Adding a new counselor to the staff has changed the counseling procedure a little. Changes included the alphabet being redistributed and many students were assigned to new counselors.
