Tony Talerico, HA, Jim Dubois, l0A, Mary Hernand- ez, 'l'IA, Dennis Kovacs,, l'lBg Ronald Drews, 'IOAQ Mrs. Hilda Eastwood, German in- structor, and Virgil Davis, 'IlB, attentively watch Bar- bara Rehwinkel, 'l'lB, explain in German how to tell time. 515.1 , My Always having been very intriguing subjects to everyone, four foreign languages - French, German, Latin, and Spanish - are offered by Fordson. Through these subjects we, the teen- agers of America, learn to know and to appre- ciate our neighbors, gradually drawing closer in Miss Dorothy Tittle, French llB, Donald Elliott, l0A, Sharon teacher, enjoys explaining the Becks, lOA, and Marilyn Abro- puppet proiect to Emil DeGrazia ham, llB. 128 Barbara Erzthaler, with a Santa Claus puppet, enter- tains lOAs Tom Chapel, Jon Reed, llA Richard Hill, lOAs Bob Bobiniac and Dennis Sobkowiak in German class.

Although some students fancy themselves a Grace Kelly or a Marlon Brando, all speech and dramatic students are given an opportunity to present their style of speak- ing through numerous 'solo' attempts. Beginning iournalists sometimes learn how to improve their own writing by clipping and pasting examples from newspapers. Here and Betty Bohn, 'llBs Barb Blyaert and Roger Loncina, and 'I2A Ellen Gunderson speech class. 'l2As Pat Brown laugh at Kay's ioke. Kay Hendricks, 'I2A, gives a demonstration talk to an appreciative audience in her 4-'YOWIUJ f45l1l,:, 'IOAs Maureen Quinn, Linnea Kolionen, Pat Hale, Ken Sheffer, and Jerry Lee scan other schools' papers. both reality and relationship. Even though Latin is not a national language today, it is more or less a universal language, used the world over by scholars, scientists, and musicians. By follow- ing the example of such a language, we make our thoughts, ideas, and purposes universal. .1 'QF ,f . Putting their hearts into Latin proiects. These valentines their W0l'k, HAS Mvilu K0llOf1en, will go to unsuspecting recipients Andy Lobodocky, and Russell in their Latin class. Masura concentrate on their Sue Roman, Robert Rizer, Pat Fordell and Barbara Kurmas, lOAs, enioy listening to Spanish records during class. Nieves Martin, l2A, is arrang- ing a mantilla, one of the many souvenirs she brought back from Spain last fall, on Joyce Ashby, HA. Also admiring the finery are Roberta Campbell, 'l2B, George Curry, llA, and Mrs. Beatrice Simmons, Spanish teacher. Latin card games yet! l2Bs Gloria Koss, Ron Gaida, Doug Acord, and Arlyn Garrison ioin Mrs. Margaret MacMillan, teacher, in a word-making game. The daisy growing out of Mrs. MacMillan's head belongs to the bulletin board in the background. N'
