The June 1946 senior class officers had to accommodate one of the largest graduating classes in the history of Ford- son, 492 to be exact. It seems such a big task for such a limited group of seven. However, they handled their duties competently. They successfully raised money for the senior class fund with which to buy a parting gift for the school. This year a choice was put up to the seniors as to where they would hold their annual skip day. A unanimous de- cision was in favor of holding the skip day at Cedar Point on Monday, June 17, although there was an additional cost. Plans for the Senior Prom were begun as early as April by this active group. The date was set for Friday, June 21, the day after graduation. The scene of the prom was in the Crystal Ballroom of the Book Cadillac Hotel. The couples danced to the strains of Del Delbridge s orchestra. The evening was climaxed with the Grand March led by the class officers. Hard work on the part of all the officers tended toward making the prom a success. 25
