wifi' 3,41 C R E W Coach Jock Sulger k eels on pier During the Easter holidays, the Fordham crew traveled to Florida and participated in four races. The varsity crew returned with a 2-2 record. The varsity was victorious in a race which pitted them against Jacksonville U. and Marietta College. The Ram's varsity, jayvee and frosh were all successful at Lakeland, Fla. The varsity eight defeated Florida, who was second, by a third of a boat length. The time of the varsity in this race was the fastest of the season and one and one-half seconds short of the course record. The iayvee and frosh competed against each other in a race which had them finishing in a dead heat. Both Fordham crews beat Florida Southern iayvee by 13.3 seconds with the American International College last. ln the last race of the ten day stint all the Fordham crews made a clean sweep at Tampa, Fla. The Ram's varsity and iayvee defeated the varsities of Tampa and Amherst. The Fordham frosh in the second appearance of their trip were victorious over Tampa. The two losses for the varsity came at the hands of Rollins and Amherst at Winter Park in Florida. The Fordham iayvee also lost to these same schools in this meet.

SAILING Led by Commodore John Terino, the sailing team finished a good season after taking Hof- stra and Cooper Union in their first meet. The Rams had all their returning skippers including Mike Carr and Ron Castro. Dave McCarthy and AI Bates who were also on last year's team helped pace the squad. The seniors were hard pressed for top slot by Jim Colgan who took two tirsts and a second in the Ram's open- ing regatta. For the season opening March 25, Mike Carr, a iunior in the School of Business was elected as Commodore and also as president of the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association. Tom O'Donnel takes off during relay. Senior Tom Harrington frighti awaits gun. The Fordham swimming team coached by John Lyttle started off the season in a poor manner but showed their pre-season potential by taking their last six dual meets. Captained by George Johnson, the Aquarams finished with a 6-6 season. Chiefly responsible for these wins was the fine swimming of Nick Cirigliano, Frank Gallagher, Larry Madoff, and John Lyt- tle. In the Metropolitan Swimming Champion- ships, Cirigliano copped first in the 440 yard freestyle event. In the same meet the Rams finished a close second to an NYU squad in the 440 yard medley relay.
