Bob Melvin broke loose for thirty-tive markers and gave the Rams their seventh win 76-72. At the annual alumni game on Rose Hill, the Rams were defeated by a much taller Du- quesne, 75-66. The Rams knocked the Dukes out of possible contention for an NIT bid in this close skirmish. John Samonsky had T9 markers for the night. ln the annual Manhattan-Fordham game the Jaspers finished on top in a nip and tuck battle at Madison Square Garden, 78-69. ln the final game for the Rams, they traveled down to Washington, D. C. only to be humbled by the Hoyas 73-70. This game had been re- scheduled trom January because of the snow- storm at that time. The Iona game cancelled because of that same storm was never re- scheduled. Lelty or righty they all go in for soph Bob Melvin. Melvin shows great control, Ray Carewj takes part in NY 204 Venturing into Boston, the Rams with a new member of the squad, Sy Coalmon, beat a de- termined Boston College squad 68-66. The Coalmon Bros. and company worked surpris- ingly well together and sparked hope that Fordham, had put to the surprise of all, a win- ning combination on the floor. John Coalmon netted twenty points and won the MVP trophy, Expecting an easy win the Rams bowed to the Lions of Columbia 51-47. Taking on Wag- ner provided the sixth win of the season for the humbled Rams. As it things were not bad enough Joe Demp- sey iniured his leg and was not able to finish the season. After this iniury the Rams dropped five straight contests to Niagara, Pittsburgh, NYU, Rutgers and St. John's. Queens College ended the losing streak as Maynard takes his patented hook.

if Win, place and show. Dan Sullivan, Matt Dionede and Steve McGeady. Oh lonesome me. Oh when the Rams come running home, fleft to rightl D. O'Co nor, C. Garcia, C. Del Grosso, E. MacAloon, M. Dionede, N. O'Donohue. CROSS COUNTRY Coach Arthur O'Connor's inexperienced and green cross country squad did much more than was expected by most on Rose Hill. The team was composed almost entirely of sopho- mores, with only three iuniors and no seniors running through the fields. ln their first meet against Seton Hall the Rams finished in a blanket finish as six Rams iaunted across the finish line. The Rams in their next meet knocked off Rhode Island as Don O'Connor finished sec- ond and Garcia and O'Donohue tied for third. ln the lC4A's meet Fordham finished ele- venth in a field of 43 schools. O'Connor and Garcia placed thirty and thirty-first in the meet. Close behind for the Rams were Diomede, Ken- ney, McGeady and Carmine Del Grosso. ln the Metropolitan championships Fordham finished third behind Manhattan and St. John's. Again Don O'Connor led the Rams with Charlie Garcia a close second. The frosh cross country squad also brought a faint ray of hope for the future as they were impressive in the lC4A's. Cross country's rat pack.
