PHILOSOPHY CLUB The encouraging of the students' interest and understanding of the philosophical topics is a primary objective ot the Philosophy Club. Therefore, regular meetings were held every other Monday at l:OO P.M., at which time the members were given the opportunity to discuss various philosophical issues. Under the moderation of Dr. Lawrence Azar, faculty mod- erator, these topics were developed and brought to an ultimate conclusion ln addition, the members considered personally elected subiects of a philosophical nature. The co-operation displayed by the members of the club in coniunction with Dr. Azar and the organizations's president, Joe Calitano, contributed to the realization of the club's obiectives.

i 10 ,,.-...awww Robert Dunn Co-Chairman Daniel Grogan FRESHMAN ORIENTATION The Freshman Orientation Program has had from its inception the goal of a well informed freshman class, who are imbued with curiosity and school spirit. This year the program has gone a long way in achieving its purpose. The program was carried on under the leadership of Daniel Grogan and Robert Dunn. Collins Auditorium saw the opening of this year's endeavor with a series of speeches by members of the senior class. This was followed by lectures each Friday which had as their pur- pose closer contact of the new students with the academic and extra-curricular activities of the school. An informative review, The Freshman Guide, was published which featured Ford- ham tradition, maior fields ot study, societies, student government, publications, and social functions. The program came to a close at the end of October with a luncheon for the Freshmen and their parents at the Ramskeller in the Campus Center. Frank Arnone Chief Justice STUDENT receive sufficient evidence of malpractice or The Student Court has as its obiective pre- vention as well as enforcement. Although it is only in its third year of operation, it has more than adequately iustified the purpose for which it was formed. Frank Arnone, Chief Justice of the Court, has been responsible for the main officiating with administration officers and stu- dents. Although the Court deals with many types of offenses, traffic violations constitute the ma- ior portion of its iudicial proceedings. Receipt of a summons gives a violator three days in which he must pay the perscribed fine. Failure to comply with this regulation may result in sus- pension by the Dean of Men. Students who feel they have been unjustly accured or fined may appeal to the Dean of Men for a hearing in the Student Court. This procedure insures justice and fair treatment for all. The Court also has a representative associ- ate iustice from each year. Should the Court I7 mismanagement by a society, club or activity, it may subpoena the officers and books of that organization for further investigation.
