There are tour men returning from last year's team with the hope ot improving that year's record of 6 wins and 3 losses. They are captain Tom Doherty, a senior in the School ot Business, who has been on the team tor the past three years, long-hitting Bob Benisch, Mike Mulqueen, and Kevin Curley. Two new additions to the team are Dennis Murphy and Bob Sheridan. The team will be missing Larry Whyte and Frank Galgano. Larry was the winner of the individual championships at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Golf Championship at Seawane y Mike Mulqueen tees off. Captain Tom Doherty sinking a long putt. Front Row: P. Hardy, D. Moore, Back Row: Capt. Cave, Moderator, T. Bell, J. Conroy, P. Cecere, F. Komornik, MfSgt. Lillie, Coach. The sharpshooters! RIFLE Hampered this year not only by the usual loss of graduating senior members ot last year's team but also by the loss ot two junior varsity members, the Fordham Ramrods fought vali- ently to keep the team standing near the top where it has been tor the past several years. However, it seems that the loss ot these experi- enced personnel has proved detrimental to the team record. Since this year's Co-Captains, Don Moore and Pete Hardy, are the only vet- teran members ot last year's Varsity squad, the team lacks the experience necessary to be a top power in the Rifle League. ln spite ot the present lack of success, the team does have a great amount of potential and with a little sea- soning will soon be bringing the laurels back to Fordham. The team has won only two ot the eight matches fired so far, but it expects to add mostly victories to its record in the remaining nine contests. Right now, the team is busily preparing itself for the National Champion- ships in hope ot bringing the trophy back to Ram Land. Much ot the team's improvement during the year was due to the excellent instruction and guidance of its new coach, MfSgt. Albert Lillie USA. Joe Murphy, Frank Komornick, Pete Cecere, Jim Conroy and John Kalben round out the nucleus of the team's ettorts. Tony Bell, Pete Johnson, Gerald Fitzpatrick and Garry Lash have been tiring scores ot Varsity caliber and will compliment next year's Coach and pupils, 207 Maroon squad.
