Co Captain Andy Garrity The Baseball Team has ten lettermen return- ing to action this year, and the season looks promising except for a lack of depth in the mound staff. The loss of the number l and 2 pitchers of last year's squad has thrown the heavy burden on the shoulders of Jay Bergen and Joe Mohallie. Senior George Crowley will also lend strong support. The infield has a veteran at every position. Co-Captain Tom Delaney will hold down the third base spot for his third season. John Salerno, a highly touted gloveman, will be returning at short while Danny Santini, the hard hitting lefty, will be at second base. The long ball belter, lra Sussman, will be at first for his second season also. John Bonkowski, who saw as much action as any of the other infielders last year, will be on hand to step into any of the infield slots when called on. Behind the mask, Co-Captain Andy Garrity will handle the receiving chores, backed up by John Lancelloti and Frank Belantese. ln the outfield, veterans l-lippi Korachas, and Chubby Welborn, return. Both boys are known for their big bats. Sophs Dick Pollard and Butch Keepie, will vie for the open slot. The material is here for a very strong team to have a highly successful season. Coach Dan Rinaldo will be on hand to help insure a win- ning streak. George Crowley and Jay Bergen Co-Captain Tom Delaney '-il,i'i Danr:Saritini

BOWLING After winning the l957-i958 East Coast Championship, the Fordham Keglers this Year got off to a slow start and thus far have been unable to break into the top four positions of the 25 team league. The high individual team game so far has been a 996, which was bowled against Queens College. John McCormack has both the high 3 game series for the Rams with a 6l9, and high game for the season, an impressive 247. It was no wonder that when theteam gave its best efforts during the months of January and February, that they won l2 games in a row. Ed Mowton, a junior from the downtown division, has proved to be the most consistent bowler, and has led the team averagewise over the past two seasons with a l8O. The l2 game winning streak could never have been accomplished without Charley McGivney, and Mike Cohen, both from 302 Broadway. Charley contributed many vital strikes and spares, and bowled an average of i775 Mike had a 246 game during the year which was the second highest individual game for the season. The team captain for the past two years was John McCormack, a senior on the uptown cam- pus. He is a four year man and was also presi- dent of the Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Conference in his junior and senior years.
