Despite this handicap the team ended up with 'a win- ning record of 6 wins over 5 losses. The season started in early December with a 53-33 victory over Loyola of Baltimore, last year's Mid-Atlantic Conference champs. The win was offset by a final relay loss to Rutgers. Then the Fordham Fish rolled up three vic- tories over Hunter, City, and Seton l-lall. ln a trip to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, the team suffered its worst defeat, and two of the Big Three , Jack l-laymen and Caesar Cirigliano, lost their first races of the season while Drury Gallagher, Eastern Collegiate l500 Meter Champ, pushed his two year collegiate record to over 50 consecutive wins. After losses to KingsPoint, where Gallagher broke his own 440 yard freestyle record, and to Columbia, where he missed that pool record by six-tenths of a second, the team dunked Manhattan, and then Brooklyn College at the Rose I-lill pool. The season ended with a loss to perennial rival, N.Y.U., where Gallagher set two new pool records for the 440 yard and 220 yard freestyle events. , I i Do we need this win, Coach?
