We, the students ot Fordham University Campus Division, in view ot our apparent need tor spiritual, cultural, and social development, do hereby form the Chi Rho Fraternity in the hopethat religion and learning may go hand in hand, and character grow with knowledge. By weekly Mass attend- ance in a body, adherence to the duties of the Apostleship of Prayer in its various stages, attendance at lectures of interest and importance to the Catholic business student and participation in cultural and social activities the Fraternity is successfully aiding in the spiritual, cultural and social development of its membership, and thereby fulfilling its purpose tor existence. 'yaungi amen anal women in the evening School of Business This group is directed by Father Simor, SJ., whose informal meetings en- able all to withdraw briefly from the hustle and bustle of the pressures of the business world and enhance the sodalists opportunities to grow spiritu- ally. Works of mercy, retreats, Communion Breakfasts and other activities prepare the sodalist for an intimate friend- ship with Christ through His Blessed Mother. Catholicism becomes more than a way of life. The Sodality contributes to young Catholics a background where- by they become not only thinkers but in addition and what is of greater importance, doers in today's modern world. The executive officers of the Council for the i958-59 school year are: President, Patrick Neville, Vice President, Paul Dursig Treasurer, William l-lickeyg Corresponding Secre- tary, Michael Politog Recording Secretary, Jo-hn Lyons. Con- tinuing as moderator is Mr.'Raymond Diskin. Among the many accomplishments of the Council dur- ing the past year was the addition of various amendments to the constitution. A student court was created with justices from each year. A new andvaluable Freshman Orientation program was inaugurated. The Council sponsored such traditional affairs as the Mission Dance, Mission Fund Drive, Blood Drive, Communion Breakfast, lnterclass Dinner, Student Directory and Senior Week Activities.
