It is ably moderated by Professor Bernard Gilligan. The President of the Club is Anthony Locascio. The club provides the student with an opportunity to sharpen his philosophical wits and add to his knowledge outside the regular curriculum. The topics covered at successive meetings this year were modern philosophy in general and existentialism in particular. However, meet- ings were not restricted to these topics alone. Often informal group discussions were held on almost any topic of interest chosen by the students themselves. It is the sincere hope of Mr. Gilligan that the departing Fifth Year students will continue to take an active interest in the development of Philosophical knowledge. It is only proper that the Society has been named in honor of St. Thomas Aquinas Whose philosophy forms the basis of Christian reason- ing. We hope that in the past year we have advanced in the under- standing of the principles that he set forth over four centuries ago. 237
