LAWRENCE JOSEPH GAT ELY “Larry” “A merry heart makelh a cheerful countenance. —Old Testament “Larry” proved his athletic ability on the Varsity basketball squad and track team. Be- sides this, he was a loyal member of the K.B.S. and the German Club. DANIEL GEORGE GRIFFIN “Dan” “May fortune play upon thy prosperous.” —Shakespeare “Dan” found his place in athletics as a valuable Prep swimmer, and his ability was seen in every class activity. Furthermore, he was a loyal Knight of the Blessed Sacrament. EDMUND EUGENE HARVEY “Ed” “Diligence is the mother of good fortune.” —Cervantes “Ed” was both an honor student and Vice- President of his class. He held a position on the Beacon staff. He was also prominent in the Debating Society, the Shakespeare Academy, and the Classical Academy. JOHN JOSEPH HAYES “Jack” “One of our noblest and most valorous.” —Tennyson Captain of the Prep baseball team, “Jack” was selected for the Athletic Council. FRIEDLMEIER, JR. “ j” «VY ; Wienie’ “A face with a smile and a story of nit made the long hour short”—Anonymous “Wienie” was a mainstay of the Prep cinder squad, just as he was a star member of the German Club. Also, “Al” was faithful to the K.B.S. services and held a position in the Student Senate. JAMES THOMAS FOX “Jimmy” ‘7 is too prone, for him to find fault in others hut rather to see perfection. In basketball, football and baseball, “Jimmy’s” brilliant playing led his class to many victories. To this must be added his outstanding work in class and Sodality. DAVID WILLIAM FURTNETT “Dave” “Merit is worthier than fame.”—Bacon Dave was known for his work as a member of the Athletic Council and Manager of the base- ball team. Faithful in spiritual activities, he was present at all meetings of the Sodality and K.B.S. JOHN BYRON FUSCO “John” “Like a good and hearty soldier fought. —Shakespeare Whether it was football, basketball or base- ball. “John” figured brightly for the class team, lie was a member of the French Club and a Knight of the Blessed Sacrament. ROBERT PAUL HEITHOFF, JR. “Red” “With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come. ' —Shakespeare “Red” devoted bis extra time in different fields. He excelled as an elocutionist and he became exceedingly popular in bis capacity as cheer leader. He was also a member of the Press Club. ALBERT EDWARD HELM “Al” “You have deserved high commendation. —Shakespeare A worthy Sodalist, “Al” was also a true Knight of the Blessed Sacrament.
