I am glad to receive the privilege to go to Boys State and learn about the government of Texas. You get a good oppor- tunity to meet new friends and participate in new exper- iences. During my stay at Boys State I was elected as a voting delegate for the whole convention. I would like to thank the American Legion for giving me the chance to attend. BUYS' STATE The week which I spent in Austin at Boys State was a unique learning experience. The concept of learn by doing is a concept which should be applied to as many facets of educa- tion as is plausible. The American Legion demonstrated its interest in the future of our nation by the establishment of Boys State. The experience in which I participated is an invaluable addition to my understanding ofthe governmen- tal process. Buddy Reece 105
