They plot courses, lay tracks and are the heart of Sea and Anchor Detail. The Quartermasters logged over 20,000 nautical miles of safe navigation adapting to ever changing short notice operational requirements. SC-2 Division includes both the radiomen and the signalmen. The radiomen operate radiotele- phones, radio teletypes, prepare messages and manage all incoming radio messages 24 hours a day. The signalmen stood watch on the signalbridge in 1100 - 1300F tem- peratures encoding and decoding messages, operating flashing light, managing visual signals, and pass- ing honors.
