E GI EERI G DEPARTME T Made of fire and steel, the men of the Engineering Department kept the ship fully operational despite the wind, heat, and sand met on the deployment. Working in 120 degree temperatures, they provided the ship with light, air, conditioning, electrical power, water, and pro- pulsion. The repairs were hard, the hours long, but they did the job when other ships didn't. Men like: Hump- dog, round-dog, bald dog, the dozer brothers, snarf, vann, and gremlin made the plant work. Service to the ship was their motto and they accomplished their mis- sion with zeal. The Engineers were always ready and ? 4 i did everything required to make the 89' Deployment a success. ?
