Your time as a student of the public school system has drawn to a close. Some of you will continue your formal education for a few more short years. As a student, you have received the benefits of a free society. As you assume your place in the adult world, you will be called upon many times to help make decisions concerning the educational welfare of future generations. We are living in a world of rapid change. We are told that we are educating children to assume jobs that do not yet exist. This makes your task of planning for the future very difficult. Do not hesitate to plan for change—whatever position in life you may choose. Sincerely, a) C. N. Hanner, Superintendent Armstrong School District

aS RAYMOND E. MILLER CHARLES E. GREGORY SENIOR HIGH PRINCIPAL JUNIOR HIGH PRINCIPAL The Class of 1968 of Ford City High School is being graduated during a period of the greatest prosperity our nation has ever known. But these are awful and perilous times in which we live, and it is good to remember that beyond our material life there are powerful spiritual forces from which we can draw strength. Since the Class of 1968 entered Ford City Junior-Senior High School, we have suffered the assassination of our President, the horror of lawlessness and rioting in our cities, drugs on the campus, and our involvement in an undeclared was against Communism in Viet Nam. All our great wealth and affluence will not solve these problems. We need a re- awakening of our spiritual and moral values upon which America was built or we will go the way of all great civilizations. We’ve also seen many good things in the last four years—great strides forward in medicine; the transplant of the human heart; programs to help the disadvantaged at home and overseas; great advances toward our goal of landing a man on the moon and many other things. Our great wealth and the dedication of many people have made these things possible. So it isn’t all bad! Stay interested in your community and national affairs. Keep your mind alert and your education will never cease. I extend to each member of the Class of 1968 my congratulations and best wishes. = r fee Y E + ; y fe ; Se g gp prt 6 C Pe es ws yA ie Raymond E. Miller Senior High Principal
