We hope that you will appreciate these memories that are as much of your past as ours. Whether the memories be sad, glad, happy or sorrowful, they will always be cherished. The eighties is a big step forward; we must strive to fulfill our goals in the decades ahead. Finally, after twelve years of schooling, we have concluded our formal education on the high school level. We shall often reach for the 1 980 CARDINAL and see what fun we had in those formative years. We would especially like to thank Mrs. Mosebey and Miss Wood, our advisors, for their patience and guidance. Also, a special thanks to the yearbook staff for the dedicated work to make this yearbook possible. Cindy Bolinger Deb Foor . om 3 5 Clyde R. Blair Shippensburg State College B.S. In Montreal we toured the city where we saw many sights, including an honest-to-goodness bank robbery! After the layover in Montreal, we continued our journey to Quebec. During our three-day visit here, we saw the Chateau Frontenanc which overlooks the mighty St. Lawrence River, the Montmorency Falls, and the beautiful Church St. Anne de Beaupre. The last day in Quebec we had breakfast in a French cr6pe shop and lunch at an outdoor caf6. We then headed for Niagara Falls, Canada. We were lucky to see the Falls at night. The colors were fantastic! We spent the night at a hotel in New York. The next day we went back to tour the many souvenir shops and buy last-minute gifts. Also, we were fortunate to view the Falls from the top of the Skylon Tower. From there we went to see the beautiful Floral Clock. Then it was homeward bound. Due to hard work and strong determination, our trip was a big success! 18 21 iaatacj 22 23 A VENTURE DOWN THE FORBES ROAD NATURE TRAIL Behind our school in a hidden hollow is the Forbes Road nature trail. Located along the Forbes Trail, built by General John Forbes as a linkage from Pittsburgh to Carlisle, it is used as a source for the biology classes' leaf collections as well as an observation area for various science classes. 24 JUNIOR-SENIOR Sharing The Queen and her Court 28 PROM '79 The Coronation Dance Dancing the night away. 29 IN MEMORIAM Tracey Ann Appleby February 10. 1962 Known to everyone who loved her as Trace, she brought a smile to the saddest face. We will always remember Trace's sparkling personality, her bubbling laughter and her certain knack for being mischievous. We the class of 1 980 dedicate this, the thirty-first edition of the Cardinal, in memory of Tracey Ann Appleby. Manager The Girls' Basketball Team started out slowly by losing two of their first four games. However, by the end of the season they had a record of 12-7, were Cove League Champs, and were in the District Playoffs. This was something a girls team at Forbes Road had never done. The girls played Southern Fulton in the first round of the playoffs. The game was close but at the end the score was 33-32 with the Indians as the victors. Thus, the end of a wonderful season. 82 Junior Varsity Standing: Becky Worthing. Michelle Houck, Connie Souders. Sue Young, Jill Brant, Kim Wmegardner Seated Glenda Purnell, Manager; Mr Cutchall.
