Class History We, the class of 1971, pleasantly remember entering Forbes Road High School as small, lost, confused students in the fall of 1965. The next year, as eighth graders, we were a little larger and a little less confused. Our only source of revenue for the first two years was the collection of class dues. In our freshmen year, we again were a little larger and a little less con- fused. We gained recognition as we joined various clubs and organizations. In addition to our class dues, we had a roller skating party as a money-making ac- tivity. During that year, we visited the Fulton County Court House. We also toured Gettysburg, where we had a delightful time in spite of the rainy day. We sold school jackets in our sophomore year. Also to increase our income, we held the Farewell Dance for the departing seniors with entertainment pro- vided by the Showmen. Our sophomore year was not completely filled with the work of making money. We took a trip to the Pennsylvania State Library in Harrisburg to do research for term papers. While we were there, we proceeded to thoroughly explore the William Penn Museum and the State Capitol during our lunch hour. In our junior year, we selected the courses that would prepare us for our future vocations. At the beginning of this year we felt we really belonged to good old Forbes as we received our class rings. We held the Christmas Dance with entertainment from The Chosen Few. With great success, we presented the junior play Headin' for a Weddin'. We also held the annual Junior- Senior Prom. It had the theme of In Apple Blossom Time. After hours of making tiny blossoms, we placed them on trees which were set in a romantic garden. Our entertainment was provided by The Melodies. Every other Wednesday, during the summer, our class held a party at the Wells Valley Grange Hall. We talked, played softball and volleyball, danced, and talked some more. Of course, while this was going on, food was being con- sumed at an enormous rate. We returned in the fall of 1970 as more mature, confident, all-cool seniors. Our first activity of the year, The Fall Fling Thing, was one of the best attended activities of our days at Forbes. We sold an assortment of Christmas items to boost our finances which would take us to New York City. And speaking of New York City, at the end of the year we went there for our class trip. At graduation as we walked up the aisle one step at a time, we recalled all the good times and anticipated with pleasure the receiving of our di- plomas. We thought to ourselves, this is the end and 'in our end is our beginning.' Senior Class Officers and Advisors President. . . Vice-President. Secretary. . . Treasurer. . . Advisors. . . .
