Class History Our beginning year as a class would probably be considered as 1964. That is when most of us entered this establishment for the first time as seventh graders. We merged from two schools having different atmospheres, and any of us can easily recall the rifts stemming from that difference during our first months here. Getting acquainted filled most of our extra hours while we were seventh and eighth graders. It was not until our freshman year, when we held a roller-skating party, that class officers gained any noticeable significance. By the beginning of our sophomore year, we were starting to feel that we were part of the school----not just attending it. That year we sponsored the Farewell Dance in honor of the departing Class of 1968. As juniors we voluntarily sorted ourselves into three categories: academic, commercial, and vocational. The receiving of cherished class rings was one of the more brilliant highlights of our junior year. Funds that year were inflated by the sale of magazine subscriptions and the Christmas Dance. Performing The Perfect Idiot as our Junior Class play was an unforgettable and rewarding experience. In honor of the Class of 1969, we sponsored the Spring Fling in April of that year. Now we have begun our senior year. We held the Back-to-School Dance to bring the term into full swing. At the time of this writing, the class is presenting its first performance of the Senior Class play. Rest Assured. Musing over the remainder of the year, we find we cannot allow ourselves to write as history those events which have not yet taken place. We will be holding many activities to gain the financial status necessary for our New York trip in May. As to the nature of these activities, we dare not speculate, for our class has always been one to make hasty, but generally wise, decisions. We cannot begin to relate here the successes and hardships we have met 28 together. Attending after-school practices, experiencing ice cream and cake on Monday mornings, meeting term paper deadlines, studying for three tests after basketball games played fifty miles away----all these things, and many more, are scattered throughout the history of our class. These are the memories we will carry with us as we are released from the protectiveness of high school in May. Forbes Road High School has undoubtedly played a prominent role in the lives of the Class of 1970, and it will continue to do so as we venture into the outer extremities of the adult world.
