Class Song A Perfect Day When you come to the end of a perfect day. And you sit alone with your thoughts. While the chimes ring out with a carol gay, For the joy that the day has brought. Do you think what the end of a perfect day Can mean to a sad heart. When the sun goes down with a flaming ray. And the dear friends have to part. Well, this is the end of a perfect day. Near the end of a journey too; But it leaves a thought that is big and strong. With a wish that is kind and true. For memory has painted this perfect day With colors that never fade. And we find at the end of a perfect day. The soul of a friend we've made. LEONA ANDERSON (Onie) Oh golly, Tri-Hi-Y 1,2,3 Volleyball 1,2,3 F.H.A. 1,2 Chorus Ij. Favorite Pastime Ambition hope so. Class Prophecy New York City, New York April 30, 1968 Dear Friends, We thought you might be interested in a trip we took recently to see our former classmates of 1957-58« Our trip began in New York, where we boarded a Pan American Airliner with DOYLE R0SEN3ERRY as pilot and SANDRA MCQUAIT as stewardess. Our first stop was London, England, where we learned that LEONA ANDERSON was working as private secretary for the Prime Minister of England. While sightseeing in London, we spotted a roaring fire at the Buckingham Palace and whom should we see but JACK LAKE and MAX MILLER now firemen for the London Fire Department. The next day we went to Paris, France, where we spent an evening of entertainment at the Blue Slipper” and whom should we find singing but BETTY ROHER. She told us MARTHA PRICE was a model employed by the Ritzie Fashion Center”. Leaving Paris, we went to Madrid, Spain, where we found RAY SHOTTS now a champion Matadore. Traveling on to Egypt, we found MARTHA WILSON touring the pyramids on her trip around the world. We journeyed on to South America and stopping in Venezuela, we visited MR. MRS. RHEON GELVIN. Rheon was now working as a boss on a construction job. Leaving Venezuela on an ocean liner with RONNIE MARTZ as captain, we cruised to Florida, where we learned that EARL JOHNSON and HIMMEL KEITH were now ”Coast to Coast Hot Rod Racers . While enjoying a day at Miami Beach, we saw GAYLE BARNETT, ALTHEA STEVENS, CHARLOTTE BARNETT, and JANE HALL who explained to us that they were vacationing from their jobs as stenographers at the Missile Base in Cape Canaveral. We continued our trip up through Kentucky, where SADIE MELLOTT was living with her husband on a Blue Grass Farm”. She explained WANEDA HELMAN and CLARA MAE STRAIT were now living in the hills of Kentucky with their husbands. Our next stop was Breezewood, Penna., where LOUISE BARTON was now manager of Howard Johnson's Restaurant. Louise told us NANCY SHAFER was living in Maine with her husband and two sons. After leaving Breezewood we visited with DIAN KEEBAUGH, who is now head nurse of Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. We then returned home after a enjoyable trip to see our class- mates. We hope to see them again in the near future. JANE KNEPPER and SALLY MUMMA Class History In 19Sk we entered the Forbes High School as a group of lj.9 frightened freshmen. We were even more frightened at the thought of initiation, but in that struggle we discovered that the upper-class members were no stronger than we. We took an active part in sports and music. We ended that year with more courage and determination. In 1956 we re-entered the school once again. One of our first activities was a Halloween Party which we feel was a success. We started our main activities that year. We were working for our senior trip. We started our Junior year with a skating party as our first project. One of our happiest days was the day before Christmas vacation when we received our class rings. In the spring we presented our class play This Ghost Business. It was a great success. We ended that -year by taking a trip to Hershey and spending the day at the Hershey Park. Our Senior year involved many activities. We lost 22 of our class members during the years and were left with a total of 27 members. We plan to go to New York City for our class trip in the spring. It is with real regret that we are leav- ing Forbes High School.
