We were scared stupid. In sports and music we took an active part. We climaxed our Freshman year by all going to Allens' Valley for a big picnic. We came back to school in September, 1953 planning to increase our knowledge toward our future goal (a diploma). As before, we took part in sports. Although we lost a good m many class mates we kept on going. In 1954 we advanced to Mr. Allisons' room as Jrs. We had a Jr.play entitled A Fuedin' Over Yonder with a successful turnout. In December before Xmas a big surprise came, our classrings. We were all very pleased with them. One of our class activities was the chancing off of a turkeyand a duck. About the middle of the year we had some good ole fashioned hillbilly music, Buddy Allen and The Drifting Vagabonds .In April we had a Junior-Senior Banquet for the Seniors at the College Inn at Chambersburg. We took our exams and one more step toward our diplomas was completed. On September 6,1955 we marched into Mr.Elaine's room as Seniors. In the three previous years of high school we had lost 26 of our fellow students leaving a grand total of 27. We plan to make a class trip in May of 1956.It is with regret we now have to leave the classes of Forbes Road Joint High School. Class Prophecy Cairo, Egypt May 30, 1976 Dearest Friends, When we started on this trip we had no idea we would meet our classmates from Forbes High. As we boarded our plane at the airport in New York we were surprised to see Susie Ranck as head stewardess of our Super G. Constellation. From New York we flew to London, England where we visited millionaire, Jim Duvall, and his partner, Jlm Wlble, who now own diamond mines in South America. Next we flew to Paris, France where we saw Shlrlee Knepper, our sweater girl of Forbes High, making use of her figure, now as a model. We met Freddie Houck and Co. drawing plans for another Eiffel Tower. From France we traveled to Germany where we found Fred Dlak, now a Lieutenant in the U.S.A.F. preparing for a dangerous mission to the Orient. Leaving Germany, we flew to Spain to visit Gall McClain on his sheep farm and who should we see tending Gails1 sheep but Edgar Henry, now a great vetinarlan. Lots of luck to both of them. On arriving in Naples, Italy we saw Shelby Cromer teaching foreign language (English). She told us that Marie (Miller) Lane is now a great opera singer in a leading opera house. While having dinner at a sidewalk cafe we see as waitresses both, Catherine Gress and Pena Kanouff, those two are inseparable. We learned from them that Bonnie Wilson was married and was living in Naples. We also saw the great movie star, Lola Love, formerly Cynthia Sheffield, taking a relaxing vacation. Then from Italy we traveled to Geneva, Switzerland where we saw Clair Hawkins arguing with Russia's foreign minister. While there, we visited Pattsy Kyler trying to figure out a new movement on a radio-active sundial watch. Around the corner was a blacksmith shop with Jane Appleby fixing harrows. After visiting Switzerland we flew to Istanbul, Turkey where we saw Dolores Knepper and Shelby Miller being faithful to their very wealthy husbands. Also we visited Sultan Don Anderson and his harem of fifteen women. Flying across the Mediterranean we arrived at Cairo. We are enjoying a healthful vacation and Mary Cutchall, a nurse in the French Foreign Legion,•informed us that Alma Anderson and Pat Parsons are leading a safari of camels across the desert. They are guiding Feme Mort, wife of Frank Euck Beebi, the great ex- plorer, who is hunting for the lost Sphinx of Egypt. Carolyn Hann is the historian on this great expedition. We hope you have enjoyed this brief visit with all our class- mates of '56. We will return to our own vocation as Secretary of Welfare, Health and Education and Supreme Court Judge.
