Speech Team 1975 proved to be a very successful year for Foothill,s Speech Team, otherwise known as Foothill's Forensic Follies. Joel Patterson placed in State Qualifiers in dramatic interpretation, although he also competed in original oratory. Steve Valencia also participated in and placed at the State Qualiliers. Alice King, another dramatic interpretation artist, won the National Qualifiers competition and will be competing at Nationals this summer in indianapolis. In original oratory, Marlee Means was persuasive enough at the Orange Optimists Club competition to win, and is eligible for a S500 scholarship. At this writing the Frosh-Soph Baseball team has just com- pleted it's first round of league play. So lar, the team is at 4-3 in league play and 7-5 lor the year. Coach Reames is very pleased with the team especially since the team is mainly made up of freshmen in a predominately sophomore league. There are two outstanding freshmen pitchers, A1 Brehm and Kevin Chapin. Al Brehm threw a no-hitter against Saddleback. Other outstanding players are George Blanton, Greg Herman, Dave Knox, and Scott Haigh. These players have an excellent future in the Foothill baseball program. It's strengths are good hitting and good defense. 240 Third baseman, Moses, awaits action
