We had girls who were willing to com- pete in any event as long as it meant helping the team. Along with an SYL record of 5-2, the team set nu- merous records and received several medals for their relay events. Girls track displayed team effort in many ways making them all key players. Outstanding players were for- eign-exchange students Bjorn Moller, Mikko Vanhala, and David Shumaker. The lack of experience in match play was the major weakness of the young team, but they were always learning and using new techniques in matches.
