Softboll Storts Strong The Varsity Softball season began on a high note, with wins over Bakers- field High and Highland in a pre-season tournament. The Trojans held on to a winning attitude. A hard 14-inning loss to South hurt, but it showed our team that we are capable to battle with any other team in the SYL this year, commented center- fielder Shannon Rogers. Other wins earlier in the season were against Arvin and Highland. The '88 season was an improvement from past years mainly because the defense and batting were better, according to pitcher Shannon Chambers.
