The words improvement and better team play stand out when you note the scores of games against teams such as Garces and East, both of which were close, 2-1 losses. Coach Don Reim regarded both oppo- nents as powerhouse teams, and the girls soccer team did a good job against them. The record of 3-10 comes from the team's motiva- tion, said Fleim. We could have pulled off a lot of wins against some of the stronger teams, said goalie and fullback Lisa Pu- get, but the lack of experience on our team fwith a coach and players both new to soccerj kept us in the learning stage. The strengths on the team, according to Reim, were Lori Hawkins at center fullback and Pam Jacobson at center forward. Awards went to Lori Hawkins for Most Valuable, Jennifer Bagby for Most Improved, Jennifer Hartenberger for Highest Grade Point Average 13.81 and Shannon Cambers, Most Inspirational. Pam Jacobson was selected All-Area, and Jacob- son and Lori Hawkins were selected All-SYL. Girls Soccer 125
