as J' JV Titons 17-O shutout cops seoson The Junior Varsity Titans ended their season 5-4-1. The Titans were undefeated in pre-season and were 3-4 in SYL after losing the first two games to Arvin and North. Coaches Julio Mercado and John Minear felt they needed wins in these games to establish themselves as contenders for the league championship. The Titans end- ed their season with a 17-0 shutout against Highland. The coaches felt they had a good turnout for Junior Varsity football and a lot of talent, but never really got it together and played as a unit. Outstanding players, ac- cording to the coaches, were: Jose Mata, Carroll Hill, Alex Haulman, Mark Tinoco, Brian Pratt, Ronnie Taylor and Jon Baker. Team awards went to Jose Mata for Most Outstand- ing, J.W.
