Royalty in the Making A bright sunny day set the mood for the crowning of FHS Homecoming Princesses. Freshman, Sophomore and junior princesses were crowned at a Pep Rally held after school on October. Amy McBride, Terry McClure and Kelly McGiver were Freshman nominees. The Sophomore nominess were janice Gorkosky, Pam Zielske and Kristine Nell. juniors Lisa Leavitt, Kristin McBride and jackie Yee were also nominated. As the final moments grew closer, excitement filled the air. All nominees smiled anxiously upon receiving their gold boxes. Each hoped to be the one to receive one long stemmed red rose. As box tops came off, smiles broke out on the faces of 1986 Homecoming Princesses Amy McBride, janice Gorkosky and jackie Yee. The same excited mood was present as the sunset and night came. Before everyoneknew it, the time had come for the King and Queen to be crowned. King nominees escorted to the playing field by their mothers were Derek Fritts, Tyton Beeby, and jeff Stutz. Nominees for Queen, escorted by their fathers were Karen Gorkosky, Kristin Lip- man, and jennifer Madrid. Again each nominee was given a golden box containing a rose. Curiousity dwindled into excitement as Karen and jeff stepped up to be crowned. Their smiles said it all. The night had been one of great fun and excitement, bringing to a close the an- ticipation of the past week. Homecoming '86

Spirits were high and excitement was in the air as the crowd of students, teachers, and parents cheered on the Falcon Football team, hoping for a Homecom- ing victory. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be, as the game ended with the Cal High Grizzlies sending the Falcons down in defeat. Our half-time entertainment con- sisted of a performance by our award winning Falcon Marching Band. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the Queen and King. FHS many have lost the football game, Friday, October 3, but the dance which followed on Saturday night was a victory. The parking lot filled up with cars and dozens of couples in their semi-formal attire strolled gracefully into the transformed gym- The atmosphere was set by the thundering music and colorful streamers as the variegated lights played on the faces of dancing students. People escaped the heat and noice by congregating outside to cool off with a drink of water and powder their sweaty noses. As the clock struck twelve, people headed toward their cars and home. . 1,--nm.M....... ny r fs Getting away from the noise and heat are Becky Reed, Pat Curtin and friends from another school.
