In a whirl of laces, tulles, chiffons, and satins we were whisked off to the Roof Garden of the Pierre to enjoy the loveliest night of the yearn--the night of the Senior Prom. All too soon the familiar strains of our school song filled the room reminding us that in a few hours the evening of dreams come true would be a happy memory. On the stage at Bishop McDonnell Formal attire for the joint recital of Glee Club, Orchestra, and Music Classes. for the Diocesan Teacher's Meeting. THE AIR Fontbonne's celebrated Glee Club added to its laurels this year with appearances on television and radio. In broadcasts of the Morning Chapel pro- gram over WNBT-TV, they provided background music for speakers like Very Rev. Monsignor John Carberry and Rev. Joseph Collins. Their radio credits included appearances on the Family Rosary program, sponsored by Rosary magazine over WINS and on the Hail Mary Hour, directed by Rev. Michael McLaughlin over WWRL. Other highlights of the season's activities were a per- formance at the Diocesan Teacher's meeting and participation in the nationwide Gene Lockhart Choral Competition. It has also frequently contributed to the Hail Mary Program directed by Rev. Michael McLaughlin on WWRL. Accompanied by Francesca Cirillo, the Glee Club makes its appear- ance on television supplying the background music for The Morn- ing Chapel of the Air. To date it has been televised four times with distinguished speakers such as Very Rev. John Carberry and Rev. Joseph Collins.

A carriage which might have once carried a President and his first lady is inspected by Adrienne Salomone, Ellen Riccobono, and Evelyn Eggers at the Smithsonian Institute. THE TIONQS CAPITAL After three years of waiting the annual trip to Washington becomes a reality for many Juniors and Seniors. A few hours traveling, a stop at the Roger Smith Hotel, and then they prepare to tour Washington. Our proud heritage soon begins to unfold before eager students. The Capitol, Pentagon buildings, and the Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, inspire Fontbonnites with memories of the great men who have helped form, strengthen, and preserve our union. In the splendorous light of Washing- ton, history comes to life. A visit to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis climaxes three unforgettable days of unfor- gettable sight-seeing in our Nation's Capitol. Thoughts of New York are left far behind by Jean 0'Brien, Regina Cahil, Geraldine Eberle, and Mary Curley as the train swiftly nears our Nation's Capitol.
