A moment of silence interrupts an action packed game as friends and foes unite to sing the praises of their Alma Maters. Cooperation, diligent practice, and fine sportsmanship make Fontbonne's varsity undisputed champions. In the 1953-54 sea- son, the Blue and Gray met the top teams in the Metropolitan area and compiled a formid- able record. They also placed among the first four teams in the annual tournament sponsored by the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. For a notably successful year we congratulate Miss Norma Diemert A for her expert coaching, captains Jeanne O'Brien and Rosalie Savage for their leader- ship, and the entire team for their excellent play. To be a member of the varsity is a singular honor, for the Blue and Gray win or lose, are always Fontbonne's champs. Neither at Ebbets Field nor Yankee Stadium would you Hnd spectators more interested and enthusiastic than those at Olll' weekly games, VictoryZ Victory! That's our cry Y Fontbonne's gym resounds with this enthusiastic cry as our cheerleaders Patricia Court- ney, Carol Sarno, Rosemarie Parsons, Judith Haeger, Kath- leen Flaherty, Elizabeth VVhitty, Rosemary Lisanti, Denyse Clolery, Marie McGrath, Barbara McGinley and our twirler, deluxe Vivian Polidori, spur our team on to greater heights and new laurels.
