An important part of the health course is the physical training schedule. For forty-Eye minutes a week, the Fontbonnite must don her gym suit and sneakers to do push-ups and back-bends, or to engage in a fast-moving game of eyer popular basketball or of yolleyball. Windows of our local stores are transformed by F'ontbonne's art students. RT Artistic talent is developed during the first four terms at Fontbonne. Color, balance, design and harmony all come into play as the student exerts her creative abilities. In Freshman year she is taught lettering and poster designing. Second year art consists mainly of art appreciation courses. By a comprehensive study of the great artists of all nations, the student is able to identify a Van Gogh, a Degas, an El Greco or a Corot. She can distinguish an Ionic from a Corin- thian column because of her study of Greek architecture. She can describe the design of the Taj Mahal or Saint Mark's in Venice. She will tell you about the content of da Vinci's Mona Lisa or Millet's Angelus, Font- bonne's a1't course adds to the student's cul- tural background, and deepens her apprecia- tion of aesthetic values. Potential architects Camilla Nasif, Virginia Yates, Barbara Bianco, Cynthia Nasif, Loretta Ognibene, Roberta Salomone, and Helene de Lauzon strive to capture the striking resem- blance between Fontbonne's Gym and the ancient Greek temples. fm..-..., so fs. 0- J WA N T r E?'w C.
