6048 O! .j6fL0lfl!LC!g0 fCont I In the second layer we slfted together the same boys and glrls wlth the efcceptlon of Donald Tucker whom we loft out and Vernon Kadlng whom we added After s1ft1ng the lngredlents several tlmes we added them to a creamed mlxture of the same type as the f1rst layer We had changed lt sllghtly however by replaclng Anthony Blank ers Ernest Emmons and Bruce Eshelman wlth Charles Frlzzell Donald Stelpflug Orvllle Cooper and Malcolm Dodds We then added to the mlxture a plnch of hlstory Engllsh home economlcs geometry soclology and general busrness for flavor Whll rr1 mg we accldentally spllled Mr Stelpflug over the slde of the bowl but we saved the batter by puttlng 1n janet Johnson ln hls place After m1x1ng as thoroughly as we thought nec essary we baked and cooled the batter as we had done the flrst layer We wanted the thlrd layer a llttle stronger so along wlth the regular slftmg mgred lents we added Ierry Zrmmerllne Douglas Stoll B111 Rldout Earl Cr1stp1n and Sharon Grlfflth and left out Marrlyn Gasklll However we changed our creamed mmture agaln by puttlng ln Phll Lewlston lnstead of Mr Frlzzell B111 Cowan lnstead of Orvllle Cooper and Pelhtla Cowan mstead of Mlldred Waymlre Much to our dlsmay durmg the m1x1ng process someone took a taste of the mlxture and as the result we lost Earl Cr1stp1n Vlna Sh1ll1ng Sharon Gr1ff1th and Douglas Stoll After mlxlng the remalnlng batter properly we added a small plnch of h1story llterature typmg shorthand and blology Vve then baked and cooled the batter as was prescrlbed for the flrst two mlxtures After coollng the batter for the proper length of tlme we stacked the layers ln the order they had been baked We then began maklng the frostlng by puttlng lnto a pan the same slftlng mgredlents as ln the cake wlth the exceptlon of Betty Goetz who we mlssed when we were gatherlng up the mgredlents We then added Rlchard Manson Phll Lewlston janet Wollenhaupt LeRoy Deles Demer Irma Frane Mary Ann Celley Dale Hague and Otto Golz just as we were startlng to pour them lnto the pan Otto Golz was spllled out so we added Wayne Bergstrom For flavorlng we added a plnch of government economlcs book keeplng secretar1al practlce llterature b1o1ogy phys1cs and advanced algebra After stlrrmg we placed the pan over bo1l1ng water on the stove and beat for nlne months At the end of that tlme we took lt off the stove and poured lt over the cake spreadlng lt be tween all three layers Vxfhen fmnlshed the cake w1ll serve twenty two senlors for hfe HOYT OIL COMPANY GREENPIELD SALE BARN D X Products For Top Pr1ces Conslgn To The Greenfleld, Iowa Greenfleld Sale Barn 66 ea I , . gaddpfp cg I am a speclal feature reporter of the well known magazlne Fllckervllle Facts ust the other day I was sent on one of the strangest asslgnments I had ever been glven I was told to go to a small town named Wolftown My edltor had been grven a t1p that all the lnhab ltants of thls town had one thlng 1n common Vtfhat th1s one thlng was we d1d not know so lt was my Job to flnd the common factor I arrlved at the townon May I6 1987 It looked no dlfferent than any other small town I went to the bank frrst and asked the cashler whose name was Duane Slvadge for permlsslon to see the banker The banker Clel Baudler seemed to be qulte a llkeable young man and very capable of handllng h1s bank efflcrently I d1dn't tell hlm my asslgnment as I thought 1t best to keep lt a secret unt1l I found out more 1nformat1on Kfter telllng the banker of my deslre to talk wrth several of the town's cltlzens he told me I could talk to Dale Marckmann but un fortunately he was away at the t1me playlng for the Chlcago Cubs However Mr Baudler gave me the address of Bobby Lane the school football coach and the government teacher When Ireached Mr Lane s home I found he was not there but h1s w1fe Karen suggested I see thelr nelghbor the former Edythe Nlchols now Edythe Hepler who was the school s home economlcs teacher and a very hlghly respected c1t1zer1 of the communlty Edythe was able to tell me much about the c1t1zens of the town She told me that Nancy Gerdes and Vernon Kadlng were marrled and were l1v1ng on a large farm west of Wolftown She sald the town Marvln 1VL1ller had l1ved 1n Wolftown unt1l he was dlscovered by Llberace He lS now worklng as candle llghter and flddle pollsher for George Gary Queck the town mlnlster has a b1rd farm for h1s hobby and ra1ses Martlns After Mrs Hepler had grven me all the mformanon she knew I thanked her and left I soon found myself near a gas statlon I Went 1n and found the owner was Delano Chafa who was able to tell me that Gary Wallace owned the town mght club and furnlshed h1s own stage show The former Connle Stepehnson had sung for h1m but was now spendlng her t1me s1ng1ng to Iunlor I thanked Mr Chafa for thls lnformatlon and went on my way I soon came upon the town marshal who works part t1me as drsk Jockey on the local telev1s1on stauon Hrs name was Gary Ehrenfrled He suggested I see Ierry Zlmmerllne t e town m1ll1ona1re I declded that th1s was a good ldea and soon found myself knocklng at the door of a house surrounded by Cadlllacs Mr Zlmmerllne lnformed me that B111 Rldout e town mayor had Just gotten out of the Navy after twenty years of servlce and he 1S now CSIVIDQ a large pens1on Mr Zlmmerlme has now become known as Elvls the Second and he says that he obtalned h1s wealth through h1s s1ng1ng career FULLERTON LUMBER COMPANY MAID RITE Phone 52 Meet Your Friends At The Ma1d R1te Greenfleld, Iowa Greenfield, Iowa f 0 Q I ' - - ' lr - . ll .
