TOM'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS Although the Steelers were the last place Finishers in the tough C.B.L., they have something to be proud of, senior-star Tom Waleszonia. Tom was able to break nearly all standing scoring marks during the season . They were as follows: TOTAL POINTS SCORED FOR 2 YRS. VARSITY 719 TOTAL POINTS SCORED IN I SEASON 5I6 TOTAL POINTS SCORED AS A SENIOR 516 TOTAL POINTS SCORED IN A GAME 36 Along with these records, Tom won the C.B.L. scoring title, first to do so on a last place team . Tom also gained Ist team all-C.B.L. I-'0Hl 54 Pomona 5 3 The Steelers opened the 1965-1966 season with a 54-53 win over the Pomona Red Devils. Fohi led nearly all the way, one time by 13 points. Paced by the shooting and rebounding of Hank Head and Tom Waleszonia, Fohi broke up the nip and tuck battle near the end ofthe third quarter when the Steelers scored 10 straight points. Tom Waleszonia led all scorers with 19 points while Hank Head added 12. Star forward Tom Waleszonia C211 lays in two points as Doug Larson C251 follows. FOHl 52 Victor Valley 47 Forward Terry Beckham Q51 chalks up another re bound . Fohi's center, Hank Head 1231 goes high for tip as Fontana-Victor Valley game opens. Fohi won their fifth straight as they trimmed Victor Valley 52-47. It was a nip-and-tuck battle throughout the first half with neither team being able to gain a sizeable lead . As the third period opened the Steelers applied a full court press and scored 12 straight points to give them a 42-33 lead . This lead was held throughout the rest of the game . Waleszonia again led the way with 22 points followed up by Hank Head with 10 and Terry Beckham with 9. K2 192
