Well, here we are on the Fultonville Limited, crack streamliner on the New York Central. Engineer Howard Yurkewicz is pushing the train to the limit. I always knew he'd be good at this work when he played with the radiator' in the English Room. Here comes conductor Don Smith down the aisle to col- lect tickets. Takes right after his father doesn't he? VVhat's this? Some trouble ahead. Paul Moran and June Bellows haven't their tickets and are arguing. They're the star pitcher and catcher of the Charleston Chasers, and on their way to New York to play the XVorld's Series against the Brooklyn Dodgers. Don't argue with the umpire, boys. I see it was settled by Robert Kruger, well-known farm implement manufacturer. Over across from me is the fam- ous woman hating author Ilill VVhipple and his confidential valet, Lee Lusso. You remember Mr. VVhipple wrote the book NVoman's Place is in the Home. That girl making eyes at him is Dot Harris, the famous lady commentator who holds the record for continuous conversation. Who's that surrounded by autograph hunters? Oh that's Harold Cook, hailed by the critics as a second Gene Autry. He's traveling out to Hollywood with Gee Gee Pod. She is now dancing with Fred Astaire, as Ginger Rogers has retired. She's flirting with the famous matinee idol, Hazlett Quackenbush. That red hair sure shows swell in technicolor. My my, more movie folk on this train. There's Pat Squill- ace practising his Tarzan yell. I understand that Dorothy XVessell is head supervisor of one of the large hospitals in New York. Arthur Stockwell, one of the four Stooges, is memorizing some old gag. What, another now? It's Bud Quackenbush, the famous G-man, who has just found his man. He must have reformed as he never found his man in a basketball game. I see Charlie Steph- enson, the brakeman, has just kicked a tramp off the train. Nice boot, Charlie. that's the old soccer form. Alfred Mausser, the great artist, is busy painting a portrait of joe Moore, Mayor of Fultonville. He'll probably soak him plenty for it. On the end of the aisle is Dick Bouton, in from the North Woocls, where he just won a mustache growing contest. He has it wrapped around his neck so he won't trip on it. Engaged in a poker game are Steve Lopuch, Bob Brumley, and Doug Shepard, successful farmers, and Harry Gill, famous playboy. Marge Shepard is leading a group of sightseers through the train. Come, come folks, look at the train not at the guide. Ona Brooks, the famous model is on her way to New York to pose for the cover of Esquire Magazine.
