..-ff' SCHOOL BOARD: Edward G. Delehanty, Presidentg Floyd N. Smith, Secretaryg Dorothy Faye, Trustee, Ray W. Sharpe, Treasurer, Paul A. Vernon, Trustee. A serious devotion to the best interest of public education and an unselfishness of their own time and effort are the attributes of the five people pictured a- bove who have the important responsibility of serving on the Flushing Board of Education. Momentous decisions affecting the entire youth and adult population of our district are constantly made by these people. Decisions of this nature in a corpor- ation are rewarded by lucrative salaries. However, school board members have the distinction of serving in the policy formation of the greatest business in ezdstence but readily accept the job lmowing the financial returns for their efforts will be very small. In addition they are open to criticism by individuals, groups, and sometimes the entire community. Board members do have the unique satisfaction of knowing they are serving their community in the great- est possible way. By their efforts in making possible a better educational program today, they become the unmistakable builders of tomorrow. Board Members, We salute you for what you are, for the principles you support and for the excellent job you are doing.
