EXECUTI OFFICER Lleutenant Commander Paul H. Jacobs l USN, is a 1958 graduate of Maine Maritime Acad: LCDR Paul H. Jacobs to attend the U.S. Naval War College and gradu- ated from the Command and Staff course in June 1970. In August 1970, he became the Executive Officer of the USS FLOYD B. PARKS QDD-8845. LCDR Jacobs was awarded the Navy Com- mendation Medal for meritorious service as Commanding Officer of USS MEADOWLARK CMSC-1965. He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service as Com- manding Officer of USS ESTEEM QMSO-4385. emy. Upon graduat1on with a BMS and unlimited license for steam and diesel engines and com- missioning, he reported aboard USS ONSLOW QAVP-485 as Engineering Officer. When the ONSLOW was decommissioned in April 1960, he was transferred to USS HARVEY E. HUBBARD QDD-7485 where he served as First Lieutenant and Weapons Officer. In March 1962 he became SSB QNJ Project Officer at the Office ofthe Spe- cial Projects Technical Representative in Syos- set, New York. In December 1963, LCDR Jacobs took command of USS MEADOWLARK QMSC- 1965. After two years as Commanding Officer, he was selected for U. S. Naval Post Graduate School at Monterey, California and graduated in June 1967. In July 1967, LCDR Jacobs took com- mand of USS ESTEEM QMSO-4385. After two years as Commanding Officer, he was selected

OFFICER 29 JUNE 1971- Commander McCulloch was born 21 Decem- ber 1934 in Plainview, Texas and was graduated from Texas Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy. He attended Officer Candidate School and was com- missioned an Ensign on 14 April 1957. His first tour of duty was aboard the USS UHLMANN QDD-6875 where he served as Anti- Submarine Warfare Officer and Weapons Officer. In April 1960 Commander McCulloch was re- leased to inactive duty. He volunteered for re- call to active duty and in October 1961, Com- mander McCulloch was ordered to duty as Executive Officer of USS CONQUEST QMSO-4885. Commander McCulloch was assigned to the Naval Postgraduate School in March 1963, where he successfully completed the Engineering Sci- ence Curriculum. He then transferred to the Nu- clear Effects Engineering Curriculum and was awarded a Bachelor of Science degreeinphysics upon graduation in June 1966. Following this tour of duty Commander McCulloch was assigned as Executive Officer of USS MORTON KDD-9485 SQA 42? .S X .. nggf IV, . far,1 ,WW Commander James M. McCulloch where he served until he was ordered to the Staff of Destroyer Squadron FIVE in August 1967. He served as Chief of Staff and Operations Officer until December 1968 when he was as- signed to Field Command Defense Atomic Sup- port Agency as a nuclear physicist. In April, 1971, Commander McCulloch was ordered to assume command of the USS FLOYD B. PARKS QDD-8845.
