PARKS (DD S,S4) CDR George Barry WILSON, junior was born Januaiy lb, 1924 in San Diego, California. He was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1945 after receiving his officer training at the Naval Reserve Officer Training Unit at Rensaleer Polytechnic Institute m Troy, New York. Prior to liis commissioning, CDR WILSON attended Cornell University m Ithaca, New York and RPI in Troy, New York. Upon commissioning CDR WILSON was assigned to duty aboard USS DENVER where he served in the Engineering Department. From 1 94b to 1948 he was assigned to USS SAINT PAUL where he served in the Gunnery Department. He attended the General Line School after leaving USS SAINT PAUL. Upon completion of General Line School he went to USS LSM 397 as executive officer. From 1951 to 1954 CDR MLSON attended U.S. Naval Post Gradusite School at Monterey, California and MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts. CDR WILSON received a Bachelor of Electrical Engi- neering degree from the Navy Post Graduate School and a Master of Science degree from MIT. From 1954 to I95b CDR WILSON served aboard USS RICHARD E KRAUS as Gunneiy Officer. From 195b to 1959 and again from 19b2 to 19b4 CDR WILSON had duty in the Bureau of Naval Weapons in Wasliington, D. C. Between these tours at the Bureau of Weapons he served as executive officer of USS WALKER (DDE 517) and attended the Armed Forces Staff College . CDR WILSON reported to PARKS to assume command in Octolx ' r 1904. Commander MLSON is married to the former Doris CARROLL. They have one daughter and make their home in Coronado, California.

WOODS was born December 5, 1930 in Fargo, North Dak )ta. tie was com- missioned £in Ensign in the U.S. Navy in June 1953 upon graduation from the United States Naval Academy. Prior to entering the Naval Academy LCDR WOODS attended the Universit ' of Minnesota for one year. Upon commissioning LCDR WOODS reported to the USS SKACUT (AKA-105), serving first as CIC Officer and then as Boat Croup Commander until late l ' -)n5. Subsequent tours of duty included: 1955-57 Engineer Officer USS Charles P. CECIL (DDR- 835); 1957-59 Aide to the Commandant 9th Naval District, Great Lakes, HI.; 1959-Gl Exec- utive Officer USS SAVAGE (DER-38ei); 19b2-ti4 ENS-LTJG Assignment Officer, Bureau of Naval Personnel. LCDR WOODS reported to PARKS for duty as P:xecutive Officer in August 1 - ' 05 upon grad- uation from the Naval War College, Command ic Staff Course, at Newport, Rhode Island m June ]9e 5. LCDR WOODS IS married to the former Maiy Lou McKLNL1-:Y. They have two sons and one daughter and make their home in Coronado, California.
